Some oxf*rd on the pitch, requiring about five or six stewards to subdue...

Just in case anyone missed the game, this was the highlight.

And the highlight of the pitch invasion was when the first group of stewards called in reinforcements who came running on, and one of them was a short, morbidly obese female who looked like every step was going to lead to a heart attack; everyone in our end (and probably the whole of the ground) were pissing themselves laughing at the sight...........

I hate to say it, but I think Bowen is now one of the only things between us and potential collapse. I really hope he stays. Having him in that role is so important for us, if the chairman or representatives can't be here to make big decisions.

He seems to be doing the right thing, bringing in knowledgeable people to fill in all the background tasks, I just hope we can keep these people to actually build something.

Imagine being in L1, on the way down, with no money, no players, no manager, no scouts, no recruitment team, not owning your own stadium, a dwindling fan base, decreasing revenue and having nobody to make decisions.

I do agree I’d be concerned if Bowen did go but let’s just hope that’s not the case

I ended up at a pub called the old windmill in Cov with my niece and her fella who’s a Cov fan. I had a good chat with some other Cov supporters who are a decent bunch tbf. They could understand my pain and were saying that their success has all been down to excellent scouting. They prove there’s a way back from adversity.

I hope they win the playoffs and I always remember them being very sporting when we beat them in the Simod Cup semi final all those years ago.

The owner doesn’t need to know anything about football but they need the self-awareness to understand this and then to bring in people who do know what they are doing - look at the Wrexham owners.

You don't have to look that far. You only have to look to SJM, who admits that he knew nothing about football when he took over. He found people who did and told them "Get on with it and I won't interfere, if you need money come to me and I will see how much my purse can open". Oh, to get back to those days again, would be great.

I think the positive thing is we could recoup a good amount of money for League One standards for our players next season. Puscas looks likely to go as Genoa are seemingly on their way up, that's a good couple of million (thereabouts) coming in right away and I think the likes of Holmes and Ince will gather interest who we could command seven figure fees for. Then maybe we can shift Ejaria on as well for a fee and save on his large wages on top of the others that leave etc.

Whilst it does still need a hell of a lot of work should we go down this season, our current income (which would drop admittedly) alongside the huge wages we will save plus potential transfer fees should mean we will be one of few clubs in the division to be in a "wealthy" position. And sustainably wealthy as well, not what we've been doing for the last few years where the owner has overinvested.

Lower Division = Lower revenue = lower expenditure allowed by EFL = higher debts (if the owner is willing to put any more money in) = points deduction = relegation and repeat, is how I see the next few years panning out, That is, of course. IF the owner stays with us.
