I wonder how much the change to 3pts for a win influenced how teams approach games though, I assume teams back then were more likely to settle for a draw because it was comparatively more valuable than it is today.

^ yeah, it’s gone, I let it go weeks ago, but ours is still the superior of the two (imo, by default of it being achieved in a higher division, that, and only losing the two games) despite it no longer being an EFL record anymore.

TBH it does bother me, but I accept RFC has far bigger issues to resolve.

I think I'm not that bothered because, although it meant a lot to us, it meant fcuk all to 99% of football fans and, to be honest, anyone who does care about it will always have the caveat that they did it in League 1 with a squad that cost £40m.

The real achievement for me is that the 106 team followed it up with a top 8 finish with essentially only 1 addition to the squad.

On the positive side, if we're record watching next season, we only have to watch the Championship after the 13 wins inevitably doesn't get beaten.

Losing this record does feel a little like the football world 'righting' an anomaly, a glitch in the matrix. I may be wrong, but for some time didn't Reading hold the record for most points in a season, best start to a season and longest, in minutes, without conceding a goal?
