Really excited about this signing! Bet the Forest fans are gutted. He will be considered a Reading hero one day, I'm sure.

I know Forest have fallen considerably over the years, but it is still nice to hear a guy leaving a club that previously won the European Cup twice say it is amazing to be at Reading. Welcome on board!

Is he a midfielder or a striker?

If he features in a quarter of the games next year I will be surprised.

Seems they are keen to refer to him as a Forward as opposed to a Winger or Midfielder.

Can play in either wide positions or up front if needs be. He's bound to be included in the 25, so I think he'll play relatively frequently.

He is a very good player! He is to replace Antonio since he is off to Sheffield Wednesday! I guess it removes Jordan Obita from the 25 though :(

As others have said this probably mean that Antonio will refuse to sign a new deal as there is little chance of him playing at RFC in which case we will have to sell this summer.

I guess the club see McCleary as a better option and the sale of Antonio will most likely pay McCleary's wages for a couple of years.

Welcome Garath. Hope it works out well for you here.

Good signing and I like the Reading-style irony of getting new owners and then signing someone on a Bosman. Looks pacy, strong and two-footed, bit of a gamble-to-nothing as he’s free and seems enthusiastic about this opportunity.

Obita is under 21 so does not count in the 25 anyway.

Although I hope he’s a winger not a striker because he only has 13 career goals and 4 of those were in 1 game.

Unreservedly pleased with this signing and am utterly unable to put any negative spin on it whatsoever.

We've signed a player who plays in the same position as two of our current strongest, Kebe and Jobi
