Sun Tzu If he learns from his mistakes i think he will become a decent manager.

He wasn't far off with what he was trying to do with us, but can he work out what he got wrong and correct it next time ?

I hope so.

Whether Swansea is the place to do that I'm not sure, could be a tough season for them this time round and I wonder whether BR actually needs to drop a division or two and learn somewhere with less expectation.

You're seriously deluded if you honestly think that! Thankfully he's gone and taken his over-blown ego with him. Can we not forget him now and give McD our full support? If this season goes anything like the second half of last season, we can simply remember Bodgers' "reign" as a particularly bad nightmare that we had some while ago.

I think Swansea will take 3 points off us this season at least if they appoint Todger

How? Why?

Last season Swansea had a squad that should have reached at the very least the Play Off positions. Instead they were a pretty, pretty team who didn't know where the goal was. (remind you of anyone else?)

How will Rodgers get results?
Will they be able to compete over 90 minutes?
Will they benefit from his tactical decisions if they go 1-0 down shortly after half-time?
Will they benefit from his Man Management skills?
Will they benefit from x number of talented youngsters that Rodgers will get from using his contacts?

No matter what he does from now on, he was a complete disaster for us.
Even Clough was a disaster for a club or two that he managed, but I'll stick my neck out to say that the Skilful Soldier Appointer is no Cloughie.

If he takes the job how about arranging a big watch and tank top day at the Madjeski, i mean he is impressed with the 'quality of our supporters'. God knows what he said to Huw Jenkins at the interview, though i would have loved to have been a fly on the wall there.

I see Swansea are currently 23rd in the Npower Championship. That could turn out to be the high spot of their season.

BBC now reporting he's been offered the Swansea job...October 16th should be an interesting game...if he's still in charge by then..

Harpers So Solid Crew I dont think BR was anywhere near a decent team here. What BMc did was get the players playing again, many of those were the players who would have hoped to step up after SC left, however BR wanted to make his own team, and signed too many players in the summer, there was no way to fit them all in and keep everyone happy.

BMc saw what was there in potential, and used it to the teams full advantage, looking forward to this season, even hoping to attend more games, money allowing

He had us out playing a lot of side up to the edge of each box, which was a pretty decent improvement on the previous 8 months. If he'd managed to get us taking a reasonable amount of our chances then we'd have been a solid position at Christmas.

If Federici hadn't have thrown in that long range shot against Sheffield United I think the whole season would've been completely different. He did, and we didn't take enough of our chances whilst out playing the likes of Leicester, Cardiff and others and so we were where we were and he'll forever be remembered as a failure.

As for signing too many players. Where does that come from. If anything he didn't bring in enough and relied too heavily on the potential that he saw in the squad already. He only signed Mills, Cummings, Bertrand (loan), Howard, McAnuff and Rasiak after the squad lost 6 or 7 senior players. Things didn't work, and he made mistakes, but signing too many players certainly wasn't one of them.

If's, but's and maybe's.
We were sinking under his tenure.

If he gets the Swans job I say good luck to him. He failed here but deserves another chance. I suspect it will be make or break though, as it will be hard for him to get another job if he messes this one up.

Don't forget the ineptitude of the Middlsbrough game. How long did we wait for our first shot? Then there were other memorable games where we completely outplayed the oppo. Scunthorpe, Palace, QPR (A) spring to mind.

BR fecked up and, like all like him, failed to see what he did wrong.

So he has gone to Swansea. He should fit in very nicely. How many shots on goal did they manage last season?

Might just have to come to that game

What a perfect fit! Can a team succeed by drawing every other game 0-0? I think we're about to find out.

Good luck Brendan, hope it all clicks for you. 1. Reading, 2. Bristol C, Swansea promoted as playoff winners....in my dreams.

Following Martinez and Sousa in the job, the Swansea supporters are more likely to be receptive to Rodgers`s methods than those at the Mad Stad. For his part Rodgers needs to cut out the crap and the mistakes. I,m sure they will create lots of chances, the challenge for Rodgers down there is to find a strike force and utilise someone he didn`t have here, an attack minded coach.

I think it is fair to say that everyone - well almost everyone - was excited at what the BR revolution was going to achieve last season. Little did we realise just how dreadful it was going to be.

You fishing?

If they appoint him I reckon we will be losing after 60 minutes but win after 90!

Jeez, peeps...let GO of the past! Who gives a flying one what ANY of our former players, or staff do. Threads like this one and the James Harper one on UR&G really are pointless shoe-gazing affairs. Relevance = Nil.

I Think that some need to give the guy a break, what he does had worked at Watford, sadly it didn't at the madstad. But its all over now a we should have all moved on, good luck to BR at Swansea, I for one hope it works out there for him and he can prove that he has got something about him. Although I fully expect some areas of the Mad stad to give him, sadly, a poor reception when he returns................that will only make some look a bit paranoid over an issue that is long gone.

I thought we were very appreciative of what Rodgers was trying to achieve, once MCDermott took over and found a way of actually implementing it...

McD managed to do it with fewer coaches than Rodgers as well !!!
