On his proper twitter account ITK Eddie says that the situation is more complex than we know but not sure what he can say. I do wonder if we might have been harsh on Pauno. We just don't know what lunacy he has faced behind the scenes. It doesn't change my mind that he needs to go now - "but" if he did offer to leave and was asked to stay, then at least he can leave with honour intact in my opinion. The worry is that if things are entirely toxic behind the scenes it won't matter who we bring in to replace him and most of the players will want out in the summer. It seems to be a horrible mess.

People are asking me what I know:

Paunovic offered to leave the club a few weeks ago, the club rejected it.

A rumour went around the dressing room (inc players and staff) last week that Pauno would be gone by today (14th).

The situation is more complicated than it seems but I’m unsure on what can be said.

I don’t know how likely he is to be sacked unfortunately

So basically we are none the wiser really. Although this expectation and hope is just materialising to nothing, sounds familiar really. I wouldn't be surprised if he's still in the dugout for Wednesday really.

Fair play to Pauno for offering to step down though if that is true. Maybe some sort of financial constraint/EFL approval is preventing this from happening. As much as everyone has rightly given reasons why, there simply cannot be any other logical explanation.
