Am over in Japan so decided its high time I try and watch the games if I can find a live feed. Sports bars are fun but full of egg chasing, baseball, and watching Iniesta and co (my local team) f***ing it up each week!!

Wasn’t there a time in the mid 80s when you could ring a number and get game updates. Certainly seem to remember Reading (like most league clubs) had a dedicated number where you could get the latest news read to you very slowly after you had got through several rounds of headlines and coming is a moment statements (all done to maximise club income from the service).

And before BBC Berks wasn’t Reading’s coverage no more than Radio 2/5 updates and match updates from Steve Beddow during 210’s music programmes. Heaven knows how anyone followed Reading’s games before the early 80s without actually going to them.

Tbf it is right next to the river and the proximity is always going to cause issues with the water table.
