I think having the word 'Berkshire' in blue and white to signify the RFC colours, whilst keeping the 'Rey Del' in the red and yellow colours of Selles native Spain would look better, just my opinion though.windermereROYAL wrote:Apparently still needs some tinkering, but for the thousands of us that are not up to date with our Spanish it means "KING OF BERKSHIRE"

Some fans on Facebook suggested getting a giant Ruben flag made, so show some respect to the man for what he has achieved this season.
They're remarkably cheap, so I've put together a fundraiser, link below.
Please consider chucking a £5er in.
Aim to release at the Lincoln home game.... if not before.
I haven't contacted the club yet, but I will....
No thank you, deluded!

Try learning a bit of a foreign languageHorsham Royal wrote:I was taught not to use an article for proper nouns ...

Their sentence construction is definitely not the same as English

Have to agree with this.Philly Flyer wrote:My wife is a Spanish translator and says in Spain that "King of Castile" would be "El Rey de Castile". So "King of Berkshire" would be "El Rey de Berkshire". Hope that helps...

Holy Nath, why so negative bud!! Ruben started poorly but has overcome huge adversity and has done an amazing job in most fans eye's whilst the whole club has pretty much fallen around him!! The guy speaks well and isn't afraid to say his piece and has got a bunch of young players playing for the club.....i really couldn't see Nigel doing the same under the conditions Ruben has had to deal with.NathStPaul wrote:Didn't see Nigel Adkins getting a giant flag for doing a fairly average job.

Most fans said at the start of the season it would need a miracle to stay up!! we're now 5 games shy of pulling that miracle out of the hat. I for one appreciate everything this guy has done for the club and if this is a way the fans can show the appreciation to Ruben then surly the guy deserves a moment of respect from the fans.
A giant flag being raised high by club 1871 from now until the end of the season will be a special moment for any manager.

I think you're right, Selles could have easily left us in the lurch. He had every right to walk away from the mess but he held his nerve and has given us some memorable moments.
I hope the Reading supporters remember it when and if things improve off the field. Once our ownership issues are sorted they'll be a lot of pressure put on Selles to get us back up to the Championship. The same way he deserves a level of admiration for his work under adversity this season he will deserve the same in patience once he has a budget to work with.
Hope all is well with you sir.
I don't remember the consensus being a miracle to stay up at the start of the season. Maybe in November when we were on a run of 2 points in 9 games. But then a lot of that was Selles fault.Crowbar6753 wrote:Holy Nath, why so negative bud!!
