He's a current Northern Ireland international so do we now have enough International players again to postpone games during International Breaks?

It’s not a sexy signing as he’s from Stevenage, but actually a pretty decent signing of a proper goal scorer. We now have two of those on our books and perhaps Brown will also step up after scoring his first goal for the club the other day. It’d be great to have our three main central attacking players scoring regularly.

Happy enough with this signing. Makes the overall squad much stronger.

Let’s give Reid our support and back the team. Come on URZ

An absolute Kia Sportage of a signing - unexciting but makes perfect sense

Has usual people moaning why a mid table L1 side isn`t going for Haaland.

Possibly Rinomhota (Zimbabwe) and Dorsett (Montserrat) would be away on international duty too, which would be our three required to postpone games.

Charlie Savage is always on standby for Wales squads as well.

Well that’s the striker.

Solid. Only likely to surprise on the upside.

Yup.

Football fans are a strange bunch - we need a striker, we sign a striker with a proven track record for the division we are in and was top scorer just last season for a team who made the play-offs, to play back up to a striker who has shown he is the best finisher in the division and it isn't good enough.

The rationale seemingly being that he hasn't played at a higher level or is too old. Kanu for example may be fantastic at Notts but he is much more of a risk than Reid and by all accounts appears to have been priced at a level that no interested club was prepared to pay.

Reid looks to be the perfect signing for what we need this season.

It is good enough, it's good enough for what we are, dont think many are saying differently.

It's a safe signing. Less potential upside than Kanu but also less risk.

Not expecting him to bang in 20 goals but a decent addition to the squad.

It’s interesting* we’ve ended up with a very experienced set of strikers

On paper it seems a pretty good mix.

More broadly I think the squad shapes up pretty well. I do worry that Lisbie is probably our biggest threat by a distance on the wings and I’d be concerned if he got injured. Otherwise there aren’t many obvious holes in the squad

Only a 2 year deal too, which is good for a 32 year old. Him and Marriot should be fine until the end of next season in today's sports science era, but obviously we need decent succession planning.

Having never come across him before, based on where we are, our objectives this season and his pedigree, I am happy with Jamie.

I hope he rips it up for us and gets us a promotion so that he gets a bite at Championship football...

Hes gotta have that as an ambition... right?

Stevenage fans not surprised by the move and think it’s the best for both parties. Some think he was on the way down judging over his last few seasons, however he is a bit of a club legend with the most apps and goals for them to date in the FL.

Stevenage also selling their keeper, Filip Marschal to… Millwall :?

Absolutely bang solid signing.

As always, it won’t appease the loudmouth kids on Twitter.

But those with a level head in here will see a signing with proven L1 experience, offers a different style to Marriott AND is joining a club knowing he’s second choice (which is very hard to recruit for). At 32, on a two year deal he’s here to do a job - which is help get us out of L1.

Good signing, solid window. If Roberts can prove his fitness then the LB situation should be ok. If Azeez deal gets done then you’d hope for some spending in Jan.

Now onto two home games in 4 days - big opp for a shift of positive momentum! Over to you Leam…
