As for Bobby - anyone who thinks he was 'terrific' knows absolutely jack shit about football. Didn't win a tackle for about an hour, scared of the ball, the big black men, and probably the scary lion on the touchline aswell. Deary me that boy needs to get a few JDs inside him before the game to get a bit of dutch courage at least.
Let me get this straight. You give the player responsible for the only goal and the home victory a 6? He put that cross right on the man's head. He had several other nice crosses that game that could have resulted in more goals. You are an idiot.Alan Partridge wrote:Something like

You too.If you still hate Futcher wrote:Hahnemann 7 - Not much to do but did it well
Murty 7.5 - Dealt with Reyna well when he had to - struggled a bit with Miller
Shorey 7 - A tricky evening against Sinclair but stood up well
Ingimarsson 8 - Struggled for the 1st 20 mins but then settled - very brave for the goal and unlucky not to get another
Sonko 8.5 - Excellent - always there when needed
The whole defence played well as a unit - especially the centre backs
Seol 6 - Looked very tired after his travels
Convey 6 - Looked a little light weight against Richards but came into the game more in the 2nd half
Sidwell 6.5 - The best of the midfield but still guilty of giving the ball away easily
Harper 6 - Helped the defence a lot and ran all night
I marked the midfield down as they couldn't seem to keep the ball and rarely gave the forwards much to work with
Lita 7 - Worked his socks off across the line
Doyle 7 - As with Lita worked hard all evening and very unlucky not to get a goal at the end
This game will have taught our young forwards plenty of lessons playing against 2 quality experienced Premiership centre backs
Long 8 - Gave both Dunne and Distin problems in the 15 mins he had
Bryn 6.5 - Helped Murty to deal with the threat from Miller and brought an excellent save from Weaver with a long range strike
Both Lita and Doyle were on a hiding to nothing last night given the quality of balls that were put through to them - most of which were long punts into space for them to chase. The only real moan of the evening was that we didn't keep hold of the ball at all (and against better teams we'll get punished for this) but ultimately it did lead to the freekick from which we scored.
I have to disagree that most of our attacks came through Convey - a majority of the time we used the space that Reyna vacated on our right (as he was coming into the middle) allowing Murty and Seol to link up well. It's a pity that Seol had been away in Korea as he looked very tired and on another night would have had a real go at the left back.
Only in the second half did we start to hit the ball over to the left wing for Convey and this led to Micah Richard hissy fit when he was substitued by Pearce.
When Long came on he gave both Dunne and Distin problems (even in the few minutes when both sides had 11 men on the pitch).
Yes Man City have failed to score in open play yet, but they've so far played Chelsea, Arsenal and Pompey (who are yet to concede a goal at all)Tails wrote:I'm a harsh critic....
USA - 7
Murts - 7
Ivar - 8
Sonko - 7
Shorey - 7
Seol - 6
Convey - 6
Sidwell - 6/7
Harper - 6
Doyle - 6
Lita - 6
On the whole.. defence did their job, albeit against a side of whom have yet to score in open play.
Midfield were more or less dominated by the citeh midfield for periods of the game..failed to produce good ball to strikers
Strikers didn't really stand out but i attribute this more to the service than their skill and desire..... Balls in the air to Doyle and Lita are NOT the most effective route (how we are missing Kitson, aye?)
Overall team result was 6/7..... win at home to an out of soughts citeh was what i'd hope to expect if we are to survive....
You give Marcus an 8 for great handling? I saw at least one occasion where he juggled the ball in front of the goal around 2 City players. Then you give Bobby a 5, rated as the worst player on the pitch after his beautiful cross that led to the only goal? You my friend, should never be allowed to participate in the player ratings thread. I think we are all dumber for have read this crap of a post.Scarface wrote:Hahnemann 8 - great handling

Ingimarsson 9 - a brave performance topped off with the goal
Sonko 8 - looked uneasy, but made some crucial headers at the end
Seol 3 - didn't make any effort what so ever
Convey 5 - too weak and never beat the fullback on the outside
Sidwell 7 - battled well
Harper 7 - showed great energy especially in 2nd half
Lita 6 - didn't hold the ball up enough
Doyle 6 - not his best game and missed 2 great chances
I think I better go and lie down - I actually agree with Spacey!SpaceCruiser wrote:That's so moronic.Scarface wrote:Seol 3 - didn't make any effort what so ever

i thought convey was appauling the other night. bottled out of challenges and was muscled off the ball far too easilyAlan Partridge wrote:Convey was excellent....Eh????![]()

Convey's set pieces were tremendous, which was a pleasant change but an excellent performance? To steal one 'someone's had too many sherry's'
Only the defense and Hahnemann were 'excellent' last night.
Three crosses do not a great player make. I thought Bobby had a god awful game last night and I'm not the only one, so there must be a lot of idiots on this board - or do you call anyone an idiot that disagrees with your opinion? Yes he did put two great crosses in and we got a goal from one, but for the other 85 minutes he was well below par. Kept giving the ball away and very lightweight when he did have the ball, never beat his man either. I suggest you re-watch the game.rhaines wrote:Let me get this straight. What is "appauling"?Sharpy wrote:i thought convey was appauling the other night. bottled out of challenges and was muscled off the ball far too easily
1 decent cross of about 5.....and that was when he did cross it. time after time our wingers could of crossed the ball in great positions and they chose not toSpaceCruiser wrote:What is "appauling"?Sharpy wrote:i thought convey was appauling the other night. bottled out of challenges and was muscled off the ball far too easily
Did you miss Convey's free kick?
