There's a Rugby League competition where a team called Manly, who were tagged the ' Silvertails ' had a rivalry with Western Suburbs who were known as the ' Fibro Dwellers ', the Silvertails were the money team, bought the good players, played a great game of footie, the Fibro Dwellers had very little money, had the young up & coming players, the players of tomorrow, by rights, the Silvertails should have wupped Wests, but Wests would put them off their game by ' getting in their face ', would not give them an inch, and with the support of a crowd going mental they would often win. They did'nt always win, but some of the greatest games ever seen were Manly v Wests, some absolute balltearers.

Sound familiar, only difference, Manly did'nt fein injuries, both teams played good hard footie, entertained the crowd, win, lose or draw the beers tasted good that night.

Whatever Lawrenson's faults, and he has plenty, he doesnt appear as ridiculous as those who have slagged him off for predicting that we will lose to 3 of the best club sides in Europe.

Is it my fault that we have those amongst us who are too thick understand that this thread is about one pundit's predicted result for a match between newly promoted Reading and Arsenal, one of the best in Europe, as opposed to a place for fans of RFC to express blind faith in their team

In the real world, Arsenal will normally be favourites to beat Reading, and no one thought we came close to beating Chelsea but did deserve a draw.

Is it my fault that you see expessing such an opinion as showing a lack of support for RFC

Fear it will the other way around - even in the last couple of league games, Arsenal have had big problems getting the first goal. Reading, on the other hand, have had a couple of fliers. Can see a game similar to Arsenal´s game to Charlton a couple of weeks back - hopefully though, Reading can hold onto the lead if they manage to get a good start.

JOSE MOURINHO is apparently not very happy with me or my Match Of The Day team-mate Alan Shearer for questioning whether Reading's Stephen Hunt really meant to hurt Petr Cech last week.

It was a sickening collision but only Hunt can really know whether it was intentional - the television evidence from Chelsea's win at the Madejski was inconclusive.

Jens Lehmann said this week that keepers need greater protection - my God, what would he have done in the days of Joe Jordan and other fearsome centre forwards of the 1970s?

For Mourinho to have a go at the ambulance service by questioning the time it took them to get to Cech was foolhardy. Reading's version of events contradicts him totally.

Most would argue that getting an ambulance to Cech within seven minutes of a call is a good response.

What's bizarre is that Mourinho seems to have convinced himself that the world is against Chelsea. Even the ambulance service.

Mourinho does too much moaning for a man who is in a great position with a great team at the top of the league. His glass is always half-empty rather than half-full.

Yes, there is jealousy of Chelsea. Their money and their success is bound to attract enemies. But Real Madrid and Barcelona won trophies AND popularity.

They did that by winning with style and with good grace. Something Mourinho would do well to remember.

Mourinho should realise that it is not necessary to take on the world.
