Ian - agree with all of that, especially the whole squad thing.

I think he'd prove to be a better left mid than one would think, but I'd rather go for a proper left mid or bring a rawer player in who can then build up to pace over 6 months.

If we're talking left sided player, the rumour mills are suggesting that Grayson might be looking to take Wes Hoolahan from Norwich to Leeds for around £300,000. Has not set the world alight in East Anglia but always impressed me at Blackpool - quickish, tricky and the right nationality.

Focher Tottenham have not had their fair share of quality at left back. Lee pyo (spelling), essou ekkoto (spelling), Bale (who should have turned out to be a good signing), and possibly Shorey (who has totally lost it since he played for England).

I think Lee's in Holland. Assou-Ekoto iirc. Both utter tripe.

Now they seem to have offloaded Etherington and Davenport they aren't broke. Last thing we need is under performing high earning Premiership flops coming and and messing our season up !

Are you kidding? The owner is months away from bankrupcy and unless he finds a buyer the club are headed for administration and a points fine. They can sell whoever they like and it's not going to change the essential situation.

That's a different scenario though. West Ham could get sucked into administration but not because the club itself is broke and reports are that the money from Etherington and Davenport means the club isn't underpressure to flog off players (and they have turned down £20 million in bids in recent days....). As you say, the owner has bigger problems than can be solved by selling Craig Bellamy !

Deathy "never mind how well he is playing or how he would fit in the team, I've heard of him so he must be a good signing"

It is obviously Les Ferdinand as he was so key to our success a few years ago.

Bale is a liability.
Spurs have not won a league game when Bale has played.

Ask any Spurs fan about Bale. He is rubbish and would not improve on what we already have.
Rumour has it he now drives around in a Ferrari and has lost the drive and hunger that he once had.

I will be very suprised if this transfer happens. RFC wage structure will mean Spurs will pay half the wages.
How will the Reading players react if Bale did join and was a top earner?
