Now 2 up. I reckon they will be bottom half, but can't see them being relegated. Charlton need to get their act together though, or they will be drawn in.

Edit: It's now 2-1 - maybe Charlton are already sorting themselves out...

Charlton 7 points clear. Not much on current form. They could easily be dragged in.

After our 0-2 defeat by Charlton (August 31st)

They were in 3rd, 7 points clear of us, 14 places above us

We are now 4 points above them (11 point swing)

and four places above them (18 Place swing)

Maybe but feel 3 of the current bottom 4 are doomed. Getting cut adrift.
Both Stoke and Barnsley on half decent form though
They are but yet the gap from the bottom 4 to the rest appears more pronounced now than ever.

Wayne Rooney’s Derby play Barnsley next, I wonder how Wayne Rooney’s team will get on

Think Luton are goners, too reliant on their home form
Think Barnsley will plummet after a manager bounce
However can see Wigan and Stoke getting out of it
Charlton and Birmingham could be dark horses for relegation

I think it will be Luton, Charlton and Wigan for the drop.

Charlton are in freefall, Luton are too reliant on their home form and Wigan don't score enough and concede too many late goals (17 points lost in the final 10 minutes so far this season. We, by comparison, have lost 3, to the top 2).

Charlton are hardly in free fall. 5 points out of 9 before last night.

Wigan, Luton and Barnsley once things settle down, will go down.
You say 5 from 9 and the more observant fan would say 8 from 39!

Not in free fall
Agreed! If Charlton get 5 from their next 9, I'll say they're not in free-fall. But right now I'd put Barnsley's chances of escaping ahead of Charlton's, despite the current gap in points

To be fair paul, that's a reasonable arguement for them having been in freefall, but having now arrested that slide. Three games is really too few to tell though, so we'll see which way it goes, blip or recovery.

Although of course, Barb has managed to be a total bellend in his comment as usual.

Playing against 10 men for 75 minutes and still losing suggests talk of a Charlton revival may be slightly premature. 1 win in 13 now.

Still got many out with injuries. Could be OK with players back/strengthening in the transfer window

You can give it to charity, in the unlikely event you win, I'll hand it over if you want to meet.

Very very hard to arrest a really poor run in this league esp if it is with players coming back from long term injuries.

Yes, THERE WILL be a top half (and a bottom half)
(unless a team drops out of the league)

I can play the game of bringing up my old quotes, they took notice of my one at the time anyway.

Very much depends on the spirit and character of the group

Don’t know much about Charlton’s players but Bowyer doesn’t strike me as a sort of manager who would let his teams roll over on a slump
