Victor Meldrew Son-in-law went to Man Utd's game on Saturday.
His comments were:-
Man Utd were dreadful
McTominay is a nasty, niggly not very good player
Rashford and Martial looked far from being international footballers
Maguire is painfully slow
Bournemouth were the better team.
He was a neutral spectator( and is a Leeds fan unfortunately).

The neutrality was in respect of this game as he doesn't like Bournemouth either so his comments would have been fair and even,
Neither do I but for this fixture I would probably have just about wanted Bournemouth to win as my dislike for Man Utd is stronger.

Hating both teams doesn't make you neutral, it makes you biased against both teams.

This. It would be like me going to watch a game between Swindon and any Neil Warnock managed side. A traditional rival and a team I just don't like.

If I was given a free ticket and had nothing better to do, possibly.
Why did your SiL go to the Bournemouth v Man Utd game?

But both teams can't lose so neutral is a good enough description as being neutral means that you don't care about the result.
Pedant.

Not caring about the result doesn't mean you'll judge the players or performance objectively if you hate both teams.

Some people just like to go to football and I did mention that he is Irish.

And pay for a season ticket at a club that he doesn't like, who are in the premiership? That isn't "just going to football".
What does the fact he's Irish have anything to do with it?
