The ref lost the plot on that. Fred should have been sent off for the 'headbutt'. I thought VAR was to review red card decisions, not bookings! Well, that is clearly bollox. The prudent thing to do would prolly have been to take him off about 5 min after.

However, he shouldn't have rec'd a second yellow as there wasn't a foul. A quick VAR check would have shown that...but you can't review yellow cards

That’s the difference between Ole and a top coach. The likes of Mourinho and Klopp would have hooked him off straight away. Ole didn’t

Still, their league form seems to be going OK, only two points off the top if they win their game in hand

Not sure dropping out of the CL will do for him given he got them back in in the first place. For all their crisis, if they do manage to win their game in hand they will be 4th only on GD in the PL and the nature of a super tight league this year (6pts between 3rd and 15th) means unless they fully drop out of contention for qualifying for the CL next year then they will likely keep him on. Not sure the owners care too much about winning the PL but as long as they get to CL they'll be happy - if they win a cup along the way, all good.

Leipzig are pretty strong enough. The thrashing at OT was a massive blip in their season. Currently 3-2 up at Bayern and will go top if it stays that way.

I have no problem with him going if the board don't back Ole and get the players he requested

We've needed a CDM, RW and a quick CB for a good while now. The board has spent money on big-name name players for either business or ego reasons (mostly panic buys or a shiny toy or Woodward)
