As far as I'm aware, the FIFA solidarity payments only come into play if it's an international transfer, so if it ends up being between two English clubs then that won't apply.

But it also smacks of a TDD deal. Star player agitating to play at a higher level, selling club places a high value on him until a last minute compromise is reached.

So we may be using the money in January.

Just had a quick glance at the squad page https://www.readingfc.co.uk/teams

According to that we have 19 first team players, 4 of which are goalkeepers.... clearly they need to update that page!

Can somebody tell me if our owner came out in this close season to confirm whether the transfer window was going to be exciting, extraordinary or just plain fcuking dull?

Also have the toilets been decorated and when is the next fireworks display?

And when are we getting The Nolans or Bucks Fizz in concert?

Being as the main criticism of him last year was his over promising in preseason, suspect he’s just learned his lesson and kept his mouth shut

Reece Evans has joined Bedford Town on loan until 31st August.
My mate has just happened to choose the held over Bedfordshire Senior Challenge Cup final tonight to watch his 1st match of the season between Bedford Town and Real Bedford and Evans is playing.
Evans scored on 41 mins H-T 2-1

He scored a few whilst on loan to Torquay last season so must have something about him as a striker! He is 20 now so you would think he really needs to kick on this season and play well if we are to keep him on our books. I really hope things work out for him as we really need a few strikers coming through the youth ranks.

How many strikers did we have at the start of preseason that have kicked a first team football? I made it a possible 5; Marriott, Patton, WiFi, Evans & Brown or as they are now known; Bubbles, injured, sold, loaned and “actually I’m an AM”. Need to bring in some, preferably, unbreakable striking options very quickly.
