I could see Southwood doing quite well at Wycombe, certainly has more of an up side than Stockdale who let them down badly in the playoff final recently. Wycombe also have the right sort of manager for Southwood, someone who will put an arm around him and give him a bit of love.

Yeah I have seen that. Wasn't overly impressed with Holmes last season, but got obvious talent and potential at his best and it would be a shame to lose another good academy graduate as well.

His wages aren't massive at all so we don't save much there, only on what we've offered him now should he sign, but we would receive a small compensation fee due to his age which might be useful enough for us in some ways. It would also open up another place for a more experienced CB with some pace to cover our weaknesses in that area from last season as well, silver linings.

No idea what their budget will be tbh. They might want him as a back up for their other central defenders. Plus Cooper has a good record of developing players. Also, they might only stay in the premiership for one season so they might have a long term plan in place for that scenario.
