Interesting what he said about the Tommy Burns era, thought we'd have had a much better chance of staying up
by making slight amendments using the existing players rather than the 8 deadline day signings. Difficult one - confidence was shot to pieces from what I can remember and we'd still have gone down I reckon...we had a run in similar to this season too.

Following on from the above comment Jon Parkin (remember him) runs Under the Cosh with another couple of guys (Chris Brown ex of Preston and a comedy script writer also call Chris Brown I think). It's got a superb range of podcast type interviews with ex professionals and managers and is well worth checking out when you have a quiet hour or two (esp. over the upcoming summer (and esp. with England playing)).

From a Reading perspective, in addition to Martin Allen, they've got interviews with Andy Griffin, Michael Duberry, Nicky Forster and Glen Little with some great anecdotes and insights to the game at various times in the last 30/40 years or so.

A bit amateurish but worthwhile, have had some brilliant different interviewees (Ray Houghton, Colin Lee and Bobby Lenarduzzi) in amongst the usual standards of Steve Coppell and Brian McDermott. Got Marcus going up next… hoping they get a chat with Jimmy Quinn, Darren Caskey or Barry Hunter at some point.
