It's fairly easy to see one of the main reasons why our players are improving so much. Selles is quick to praise players' performances but at the same time still encourages further improvement.

In the post match interview he spoke about Kelvin's great performance, commented on how he is improving on his tracking back/recovery runs and defensive duties and said that he did this well for 65 minutes. However, the next step was for him to do that for a full 90 minutes. That also helps explain why he was substituted.

Interesting. That's exactly why I thought he'd subbed him.

It seemed so obvious but Dim was baffled.

I haven’t read through all this so it might have been mentioned already. I thought Elliott was excellent yesterday and he has improved massively since last season. I know it’s still early days, but I am sure Champ clubs will be circling soon.

He looks stronger and more aware of the need to shield the ball.

There are several players who are improved and could attract higher league interest, it's great. I think Bindon and Elliott have the highest ceiling in the squad, but it's not outlandish to say Ehibhatiomhan, Mbengue, Savage or Craig.

Is anyone else really impressed with how well Selles has integrated youth players into the first team? Azeez, Kelvin, Camara, Dorset etc. I know we only recently signed Craig, so probably not fair to call him our youth player. And the fact we have another generation of young players starting to get involved too, with Abrefa, Garcia and Wareham all being at least on the bench.

Can't help but think that the imposed embargo has actually forced us into relying on the academy which seems to be bearing more fruit than the last time we were allowed to pay fees for players.

There are several players who are improved and could attract higher league interest, it's great. I think Bindon and Elliott have the highest ceiling in the squad, but it's not outlandish to say Ehibhatiomhan, Mbengue, Savage or Craig.

A massive IF I know, but if we could get promoted with this squad of players, I think we could have the same impact as Coventry and Sunderland did when they went back up to the Champ. Obviously, that would mean keeping Selles and strengthening the squad.

I think a lot of clubs stagnate in the Champ. They chase the Premiership dream and eventually find themselves fighting at the wrong end of the table. Saying that, something needs to change with clubs coming down from the Prem having such a huge financial advantage.

I think most of the time they’re too lazy to do their research on the other teams etc. It feels more about them than the actual match at times. The commentators who covered the Cardiff friendly were excellent.

I agree.

I think most of the time they’re too lazy to do their research on the other teams etc. It feels more about them than the actual match at times. The commentators who covered the Cardiff friendly were excellent.

They spend more time talking about their travel, previous trips, nights out, other sport, Mick's career and Dim's exercise than the game. And when they do talk about the game half of it is either uninsightful or Dim's got the player's or action wrong.

I see a lot of criticism of Tim online, but honestly, he's amazing compared to the insufferable Ady Williams.

It is like listening to an annoying 10 year old who asks the most asinine and contrite questions, just to try to prompt some forced discussion. One of the worst examples of this, admittedly a while back was something like:

"Y'know Tim, if we win the next 6 games, we'll be in the top 2. But if we lose them, we'll be at the bottom. What do you make of that?"

Every time I listen, there are stupid questions of this type. He's also said ridiculous and just embarassing things on Twitter. I remember when the news broke about Wycombe attempting to buy Bearwood. I spent a lot of that week pretty upset and just shellshocked as many did. I then saw him tweet something like "I know things have been bad, but who is the biggest #ReadingFC fan?".

On a side note, I just noticed his twitter account is deactivated and he is taking a break apparently.

But yes, seemed like a nice bloke when I met him, but Ady's contributions are just downright annoying.

I can just about stomach Dim and Mick (JUST) but I've stopped tuning in to BBCRB now as Williams just winds me up.

Comes to something when I'd rather get updates from Ian on how the game is going / has gone than live commentary and after match analysis from local radio!
