Far more complex behind the scenes. Private equity will be looking for a financial return. American owners aren't buying clubs for the love of the game or the benefit of the local community.

All of which means financial outlay, as they'll want to sell up at some point and the club has to be in a better place to achieve some gain for them. So the usual trope of speculate to accumulate, as long as the people speculating are doing it intelligently then we should (eventually) get to be quids in!

Ex-wife.
So much nonsense around this at the time when IIRC Wayne wasn't even married to her by then.

As for Pat Terry, a very physical small striker but with a good spring, like Shane Long, and a powerful header of the ball.
What was his height?
I would have thought around 5ft 9"-10".

Sensible enough to realise that the fans are not happy with what they are watching (he supposedly was at the Doncaster game so would have heard the discontent) so it's best to come out with something before the end of the season rather than wait till the season is over.

Fortunately he did not repeat the drivel about an exciting transfer window-it is the raising of expectations that his been his one fault in a season when he has tended to say the right thing.
Why do f*****g Yanks have to bring hype into everything?

The club isn't going to be in a better place with Richardson in charge!

kinda loved that the two people doing the pre-match chat this week were Richardson and Leam.

Maybe the dressing room is in the last place you looked?

He played with the likes of Dennis Allen, Dougie Webb and Alan Scarrott on the wing. Mick Travers, Gordon Neate, Colin Meldrum, Dick Spiers, Dave Bacuzzi , Rod Thornhill & Maurice Evans with Arthur Wilkie/Mike Dixon in goal. There were others ,but those were the ones I remember. I think Pat Terry was on the cover of the match day programme at the time.
My autograph book (which includes Pat's) records; Came from Millwall fee about £1500 August 20th1964 debut two days later. Broke his leg Dec, 12th. v Bournemouth returned March 16th.at Carlisle. Sold to the Swinesden Feb. 1967 fee £6-7000 Two others he may have played with are two Knights, Peter and Brian.
I don't remember him breaking his leg. Are you confusing him with Douggie Webb?

I would have thought a bit more, maybe 5ft 11. But not a small striker!

Checked the playing records, Terry was pretty much ever present that season then suddenly disappeared between the above specified dates so presume RF is spot on with the reason.
