So there is now 2 Insandouts active online. 1 claiming that Yak is coming back and that they have insider knowledge but are not the same insandouts as before but a friend of the original one.
The second one claims that we are signing Mills and Collins.

Brogue any insight at all? As you seemed to know the first one and might know if this is all rubbish or to be believed…

They're both kids trolling, unless the guy who ran the other account deactivated, became illiterate, then opened a new account.

Can you imagine though if we signed, Archie Collins, Stanley Mills and Yakou Meite though the 3 they are saying what a window that would be. There does seem to be this rumour doing the rounds away from this that we are signing an ex player. I dream of Nelson Abbey or Yakou Meite. But I think it will likely be one of the Toms unfortunately.

Leam is still talking about '3 or 4' new additions & with Couhig in the Country you'd think it would be this week?...

He also implied more pace and power from the new additions so here's hoping it's a special CF & a LB...

Plenty of time, there’s 23 days left of the window, it closes at 11pm on Tuesday 1 September.

But, LR says if players don't have preseason they won't be fit even in April the following year.

Do we know if he is only referring to pre-season with us or does it include pre-season elsewhere?

One of them is that Dan weirdo, who has far too much time on his hands, talking to himself about Yakou Meite.

Weirdly I think he may have stumbled onto one name that we might be looking at in Elijah Adebayo. He is obviously in shape again as has been on trial at Bristol and played in 3 friendlies. They then signed Ballard and Tolaj. I spose it depends whether he can stay fit or time his injuries opposite Marriott we could have a rota….

God I hope we’re not looking at him other than to rule him out! ACL then a hip injury in the last two years but then I suppose that makes him ideal in the Reading AI scouting world.

Have we ever signed a player at the weekend or on a bank holiday? I have seen other clubs announce players, but I don’t ever recollect us doing so.

My memory is probably playing tricks on me, but I think Le Fondre might have come in on a Saturday - or at least that's when it was announced.

Not a signing, but Sigurdsson left us to join Hoffenheim on the August bank holiday Monday, which would make sense in that they don't have that holiday in Germany.

Yeah, you might be right about ALF. All I remember is a few names getting mentioned over the bank holiday weekend in 2015 and I think Piazon was one of them. I thought we were winning the league that season.

The end of the window does see a lot of movement. Some players get their big moves, some don't. A late transfer may happen higher up the food chain and set a load activity cascading down the leagues. Some players will accept their Championship move isn't happening and will look to L1. The big Azeez sale may happen after Hull and Millwall are forced into a late compromise, and then we have more funds.

It's never ideal, but it's how it works. It feels like we went after our top targets early, signed 4, missed a few and now are just trying to plug gaps in the squad based on what's available. Don't be surprised if it all happens at the end of August.

Yeah I wish they would change that. To sign players weeks after the season has started seems shite for both the buying and selling clubs.

I know it’s to do with trying to line up all the markets here and abroad but there has to be a better way of doing it.

But it's very frustrating that one of the key positions we're waiting on as we approach the deadline is a striker AGAIN. We sold Smith over 18 months ago. It was the key position in the summer, then we got a last minute deal for Marriott. He was great but injury prone, so arguably it was a priority in January but we didn't get anyone. Now it's a key priority again.

Why are we incapable of going early for a striker when it's been such a glaring problem for so long?
