But I'll play your game anyway. I think they'd miss Van Dijk. Arguably up there as 'best in the world' again, he is making it look easy, despite not being as quick as he was a few years back. It's all about positioning and strength, he has been immense.

Salah and TAA I think they can miss, in fact they didn't miss TAA, Bradley was excellent as cover.

To be fair to the United side of 85/86, they weren't the dominant force in English football and were more often than not mid table also rans rather than genuine title challengers in the 80s

A mid table team is more likely to be over reliant on one player and more likely to blow up in a title challenge.

Which one player are you thinking of?
Haaland, Rodri, De Bruyne?

The injuries seem to have caught up with De Bruyne who , for many seasons, has been the best and most influential player in English football IMHO.
That makes it bad for City, but good for the rest.

I had a bet on Rodri for the ballon d'or at 20/1 but one season too early.

Scintillating world class performance by Liverpool in the first 30 minutes yesterday and they were very close to being 3 up after 20 minutes.

I don't think it will happen but the lead, although impressive on paper, is the kind of lead that Arsenal lost (and famously in Fergie's time Newcastle did although not by losing so much) last season so a long way still to go .
