Word take Slough away in round three or preferably, Oxford away.
Slough would beat Hartlepool.
Yes. Believe Maidenhead and Braintree are the only part time teams in the Conference NationalJohn Smith wrote:Are Sutton full time?Royal Rother wrote:And 5 places below tonight’s opponents.
Absolutely marvellous evening, despite the weather. Cracking game, good crowd, decent sing-song and I finally saw Slough win a penalty shoot-out! (I missed the B&B Cup one last year v Beaconsfield). General agreement that it was a fair result, even from the Sutton manager Paul Doswell, which is good to hear. Bring on the Gills...Royal Rother wrote:I am probably the only Windsor supporter pleased to see Slough go through.
Great achievement.
Maybe we will match them one day!
Maybe.
Superb ground, went there last month for Slough's FAC3Q replay. Can vouch for the narrow railway side, probably the friendliest welcome at any match for years, and the dreadful smell at the far end away from the entrance by the creek...Tony Le Mesmer wrote:I went to Bristol Manor Farm 1 - 2 Highworth Town on Saturday.
Its the closet a train line comes to a football ground. The Bristol TM - Sevenbeach line runs almost down the touchline. there is only enough room for one to stand in front of the railway fence. So there was me, poised with camera in hand, at 3:12 waiting to get the 'money shot' with a Sevenbeach service that never arrived. Bus replacement service weekend, wasnt it.
Yep, I'd heard a couple of rumours but it sounds like they wanted to get last nights game out of the way first.Old Man Andrews wrote:I think Carl Davies has stood down as Bracknell Town manager. Can't confirm this just yet.
Didn't you confirm that the Chairman and Tallentire fell out over his selections when he left before though?Old Man Andrews wrote:I can't go into the who's and wheres but this has indeed been coming. I was in a meeting last week at the club and there were rumblings. Mark Tallentire is very much in charge of the football side of things, he does butt in from what I am told. I wouldn't believe all you hear and read about the chairman though, he's nowhere near as bad as is made out. A lot of other local clubs are envious of Bracknell's financial situation, ground and potential and spout a lot of unfounded nonsense which isn't really fair. He's ruthless yes but he doesn't involve himself in team selcetion etc.
Yep. Heard it was Tallentire giving the orders this time around, chairman has been very quiet due to how well the team did last season and the start of this one.Hoop Blah wrote:Didn't you confirm that the Chairman and Tallentire fell out over his selections when he left before though?Old Man Andrews wrote:I can't go into the who's and wheres but this has indeed been coming. So he just uses his pit bull Tally to do it for him now?Old Man Andrews wrote:Yep. Heard it was Tallentire giving the orders this time around, chairman has been very quiet due to how well the team did last season and the start of this one.
From what I have heard he stays out of team selection and tactics altogether now, he has no need to be involved with the team doing well. He brought Tally in as Football Director to do that side of things and avoid putting himself in that position. Thats from a coach and a player at the club with no reason to lie. Tally still desperately wants to manage the football team IMO and it wouldn't shock me at all if he is named manager. I get the feeling that he was more pally with Davies, and the longer serving players, than he was with Tally so maybe either he didn't want to tread on any toes or just agreed with his ways a bit more.
I wouldn't knock him for the way the club has been progressing though. It's a great facility they have there now and it really seems a club on the up, which is good.
A Football Director shouldn't be involved in selection and tactics either, unless the manager asks him to be. I'm sure Tally does want to manage though, he's been a manager for years and didn't appear to want to take a back seat at all when he was manager before. It makes appointing him Football Director an odd move, especially with a young Player/Manager who brought in his own staff with him (Geoff Warner and Gavin Smith).Old Man Andrews wrote:From what I have heard he stays out of team selection and tactics altogether now, he has no need to be involved with the team doing well. Bracknell Town’s chairman Kayne Steinborn-Busse wrote:“Some early speculation concerning Mark Tallentire returning to the hot seat won’t be happening as Mark is enjoying his broader Board Level position helping shape the Educational Acadmey, and working on our longer term goals.”
