If it wasnt for touts i wouldnt have gone to half the big games i have. Dont have a problem with them myself. Just means fans who are prepared to pay get in at a cost. Now they dont get in at all.

I know I'm biased but our presentation was superb; the lad from Man City was superb, Cameron did hos party trick of doing his speech without notes (and an excellent speech it was as well) Beckham has been immense this week and again in the presentation, whilst Anson was a bit creepy, and Prince William a bit wooden.

Interesting that neither Putin nor the Spanish PM could be bothered to attend.....

I was expecting the Russian presentation to simply be a big bloke in a leather jacket and shades walk up to the dias and put down with one hand a big chequebook, and in the other hand an Uzi, then walk off!!!

Seriously though, if we win this now (and I still think we will get shafted), it will be down to all the massive amounts of work done by all the team (even the ex Sports Minister Gerry Sutcliffe who got recognition from Cameron in PMQ's yesterday) and by the final push provided by Wills, the PM and especially Beckham.

Arise Sir David and Lady Victoria!!

Don't care tbh as will be there wherever it is. The further away from the masses of European fans the better as it'll be easier to see the games. Went to 9 games in SA, absolute breeze to get in and cheap as chips.

Note I've now jinxed the Ruskie win...

I know I have said it a number of times already but I just hope that ^^^ isn't the standard mentality from the English public if England don't get this though I fear it will be.

We can never ever go out of a big tournament because we are not good enough, it is only ever because of an incident or a -gate. If we don't win then at least be respectful of the winning bid rather than offering up the usual english sour grapes.

On the merits of the bid, England's is superior on pretty much every level.

I believe Russia will win as the process is corrupt and the Russian bid team are prepared to be more corrupt than the English one are.

What's the timescale for this?

Saw some Russian bloke harping on about their bid on the TV in the lobby half an hour ago - looks like the kind of thing they'll try and drag out all day.

Really? as previously stated I haven't looked through the bids in detail, just seen the real basics as presented by the British media which has looked fairly biased (shock horror).

Heard the Russian & Iberian bids be talked up a lot on the radio over the past week

The biggest difference is that the English bid has existing stadia and training facilities, in the main - the others require massive investment to make them happen.

Sort of related - according to yesterday's independent, FIFA, a not-for-profit organisation, profits to the tune of £1.6bn from each World Cup.

It's accounts last year listed $63m against salaries, an equivalent of $170k per head. Fcuk knows where the rest went.

Is that a positive though? In the eyes of FIFA I think the biggest difference is that by going to Russia they're spreading the word and leaving behind a bigger legacy in terms of facilities and structure.

I think they like that aspect a hell of a lot as it's the reason they went to places like USA and Korea/Japan, to bring football to a new audience blah blah blah. They can't do that every tournament so lets hope that 2018 is one they give to a proper footballing nation (yes I know it's a main stream sport in Russia but it's not on the same scale, hence the difference in stadia requirements).

It seems that the Russians have played Roulette and shot themselves.

Portugal/Spain V England

FIFA do not really like joint bids due to the previous problems.

Hope we get it, I missed the last England WC by a year!!
