As far o ur game - watched the last 25 or so. Not that exciting really, few chances for both sides

Our lads did ok, Akande prob the most dangerous. Senga seemed quite lively, but suprised he didn’t get the whole game. Spencer ok along with the CBs

Usual cup suicide from Reading. Thought we might be getting somewhere start of second half then we make a load of unforced changes, back to a trial match, concede, lose.

When you’ve got ten players only playing part of the game do they feel the same responsibility for the result? Feels too easy to say not my problem. Much rather we got results than just ‘gave minutes’ - jmore good cup results you get more chance of getting minutes further down the line. Better for morale if you win. Feel sorry for our poor fans who went.

Rushesha impressed me tonight, he was all over the pitch, trying to make things happen with some hints of quality. Hope he gets some minutes off the bench in the league.

Can't say I blame Ruben who had little choice really given the amount of football we've played and how threadbare the squad is.

Cheltenham had two Academy graduates at fullback in Liggett and Willcox. Otherwise it was a bunch of fairly seasoned lower league pros. And Reading's kids stood up well. Matty Taylor and Ryan Bowman didn't get much of a sniff in front of goal aided, partly, by some wasteful delivery. But the Reading defending was pretty solid for the most part.

It took Michael Flynn making a triple substitution to bring on, arguably, Cheltenham's three best and most exciting attacking players this season - Jordan Thomas, Arkell Jude-Boyd and Joel Colwill - to break the deadlock.

One of those games where everybody can be fairly happy, I suspect.

Was one of those games I’d really have enjoyed a few years back. However seems to be the norm nowadays for us to chuck in a load of kids in a cup game and see them lose valiantly

It’s great credit to the Academy though that this was almost a u21 second team by the end and they all looked like they should be playing pro football

Shame Kanu is injured as liked the look of him but both our CBs looked pretty solid and maybe ready for the bench
