Completely agree. Question is would you start him in the next game though and would you drop Jacob and play him at Left Back, or Stickers and play him at Centre Back?
I'd drop Ahmed, Stickers and Jacob. And play Williams, Abrefa and Dorsett
+1

Good tonight, paired well with Burns and had a LOT to do. Feels like he has the potential to be the sort of player I can really get behind. Nice eyes too.

Fancy he'd do well with O'Conner too. Think they'd be quite a dominant pairing.

Yes very good vs Bolton

Looks a clever signing. Hopefully he’ll continue in that form

Very impressed with him last night. He fits in seamlessly and brings a calm to the back line - I'd certainly have him down as our number one centre half from here and Burns or Stickers can fit in nicely alongside him.

The one concern about him is lack of pace, but he was only isolated once last night and he did the right thing by conceding a cynical foul on the half way line. You can see he won't get done for pace much due to his positioning.

I'm not convinced we'll see Paudie this side of Christmas, and even if we do I am not sure he'll be straight into the side anyway.

Burns has arguably been our best player this season so far, so happy enough with him and Williams

Not someone I'd have considered for that honour

Who would you? Abrefa? Certainly not any of the midfield or other defenders or keeper. Only Danny K could remotely be considered from the front line

Yeah, Abrefa. DK. Elliott. Williams. Pereira. Which is a pretty damning indictment on the rest of the team.

Not saying he's been bad, just that he's done nothing to make himself stand out imo.

There is no evidence Paudie is out for that long; I was hopeful we'd see him in September.

But either way, it seems we have 3 CBs at a high L1 standard which makes a change from previous seasons (though none are as good as Bindon and Mbengue).

I'd say, there's no evidence currently but that is always liable to change with us for whatever reason.

You have to ask why we went and brought in another CB in the form of Williams when we thought we were sorted in that dept.

Because Stickland didn't look ready and going into a season with only 2 capable CBs is poor planning.

O'Connor has started 35+ games in each of the last 4 seasons. Nothing indicates he's a long term croc.

He’s been ok but can’t remember him pulling off too many saves. One at Lincoln? Been shakey on the ball a few times as well

I can't remember which games, but I remember him pulling off some very good saves.

Stats say 8 total, obviously some of them would be dribblers and routine.

Yeah Lincoln. Can’t remember any since then.

Stickland looked okay to me. And Dorsett was coming back well (he's definitely not a left back). That would have been 4 specialist CBs, which seems enough.
