Seems they may well next bit £15m + a young player that they value at £10m, as it’s getting late in the day and the ‘wall would need a replacement for Azeez. Therefore the value of the total deal would be £25m but if that does happen would Reading be due a percentage of £15m or £25m?

No one able to confirm what the sell on percentage actually is, only that there is one. If we take it as a conservative 10% though then we’d get a £1.5m payout on a £15m sale.
Pretty sure it's 20%. Like you, I think we only get the cash part of the deal, not total cash+player value.

Probably having a knock on effect with the proposed Minteh move to Liverpool.

Pretty sure they’d value the player in the swap deal and you’d get a percentage of that as well

Otherwise it’d just be an easy workaround

Anyway hopefully something will go through today

So Lemon said he needed 4 transfer Windows to get where he wanted to be

Can't imagine how poor this team will look in 12 months time, the spine of the team looks old with a few exceptions, a couple of players if they have good seasons might be sellable. It really seems to me Couhig and co are not here for the long term, why buy all these old boys with no sell on value.

I can categorically tell you it’s 20%. I know this for an actual fact. Just stick to the match threads will you :|

That will be why they are pushing for as much as possible as they need to pay us off out of it. £12 million, is 9.6 million to them, £15 million is £12 million to them. They will want to get as close to £20 million as possible which is not out the question for a player regarded as a top championship winger. It will be undisclosed but my guess will be he will go for £18.6 million. It’s always that figure for some reason.

Millwall put out a statement in January saying they’d rejected a club-record bid from Ipswich for Azeez. Their record sale is Romain Esse at £14.5m, so you’d assume the Ipswich offer was north of that.

With Azeez still having 24 months left on his contract, I can’t see why they’d accept anything less now than the bid they rejected in January. So I definitely think they would be look for 18-20

Most sell-on clauses are based on the net transfer profit, not the gross transfer value. So if we sold him for £1m and then Millwall sell him for £12m, that will be an £11m profit and only £2.2m to Reading with a 20% clause, not £2.4m.
Millwall arguably getting Azeez on the cheap is going to help now with the transfer profit.

I’m sorry, but that is all b0llocks. Reid is the only signing over 30 isn’t he? Earthy, Stokes and Lisbie are around 22, Godwin-Malife is 26, Masterson is 27, Knight is 28! This transfer window has made the matchday squad younger and quicker, with decent scope for increased future sell-on value.

Richardson joined in October? So January would only be his third window?

Getting corrected twice in a day, Sutekh needs to go for the hattrick

It’d be nice to see some of the u21s come through this year and join the group, but as it is, there is a decent mix of ages across the team.

Azeez to Brighton for £15m will give us a nice £2.8m sell-on fee!

Doesn't it depend on how the deal is broken down? I doubt it is a straight 15m up front

True, it will, I should have said a sell-on fee of up to £2.8m. It’s a total guess, but I’d be surprised if it is less than half of that upfront.

Isn’t that likely going to be a bit too soon for us to do anything with? I doubt we just get an envelope through the letterbox filled with cash the minute Brighton sign him.
