Latest report I’ve seen suggests Brighton want Azeez and don’t want to muck about. Seems they may well next bit £15m + a young player that they value at £10m, as it’s getting late in the day and the ‘wall would need a replacement for Azeez. Therefore the value of the total deal would be £25m but if that does happen would Reading be due a percentage of £15m or £25m?
No one able to confirm what the sell on percentage actually is, only that there is one. If we take it as a conservative 10% though then we’d get a £1.5m payout on a £15m sale.
I can categorically tell you it’s 20%. I know this for an actual fact. Just stick to the match threads will you
That will be why they are pushing for as much as possible as they need to pay us off out of it. £12 million, is 9.6 million to them, £15 million is £12 million to them. They will want to get as close to £20 million as possible which is not out the question for a player regarded as a top championship winger. It will be undisclosed but my guess will be he will go for £18.6 million. It’s always that figure for some reason.
Most sell-on clauses are based on the net transfer profit, not the gross transfer value. So if we sold him for £1m and then Millwall sell him for £12m, that will be an £11m profit and only £2.2m to Reading with a 20% clause, not £2.4m.
Millwall arguably getting Azeez on the cheap is going to help now with the transfer profit.
