I agree with the overall sentiment, but I’d say that Earthy is definitely in the ‘first 11’ and I’m expecting Knight to eventually be there.

I agree with the overall sentiment, but I’d say that Earthy is definitely in the ‘first 11’ and I’m expecting Knight to eventually be there.

Yes it’s solid and I’d have no issues with any of those starting

I'm content with the window, but not delighted.

We've brought in a few players who should improve as the season goes on (Lisbie; Malife; Earthy), to accompany those bought in January (Ward; Roberts).

I think Reid and Knight (on loan) will be solid signings for us – experienced at this level and should provide solid cover for the first XI (at worst).

Brown's role probably needs defining a bit, but he'll certainly provide cover across all of the attacking positions.

Masterson (on a six month deal) is low risk and certainly looked a good option to have against Stevenage (albiet against poor opposition). Stokes is similar – if he can get a bit of form going, I think he'll be a solid option for us.

Happy we've not overloaded on loanees this season, as that usually doesn't go well for us. It also gives us greater scope to sign players in January, should we need to.

In terms of outgoings, I'm disappointed to have lost Derrick Williams (although him deciding to retire for injury reasons is completely understandable).

Matt Ritchie retiring was probably of benefit to us, as he was apparently on high wages which I didn't feel was justifiable. That said, I don't know what impact he was having behind the scenes and whether he'll be missed in that regard.

Yiadom was a great servant for the club, but it made sense for both parties to see him go.

Ben Elliott has the potential to become a good player, but his injuries and inconsistent performances when he did play means I'm not overly fussed about his loss.

Ehibhatiomhan needed to leave to give him an opportunity to develop as a player. He basically hit his ceiling whilst remaining with us. His move to Denmark will hopefully give him a clearly defined role and position, which is something he lacked during his time here.

Of the returned loanees (not considering those we returned early), I think Malife will turn out to be somewhat better than Nyambe for us; both Knight and Masterson will be better than Burns; and Lisbie more effective than Young.

The only potential downgrade is on Kamari Doyle, but he took over half the season before he started to reach the level we expected. Both of the attacking midfield signings are young, so could easily be at that standard within the few months themselves.

On the whole, I think we're no better or worse off than we were at the end of last season in terms of our strongest XI. However, I think we've now got more depth and optionality, along with more first team players who have the potential to improve throughout the season (who are actually contracted to the club permanently).

I had rather hoped that Dorsett would have gone during the window.
As for Rino and Stevens they are hardly youngsters coming through the system now which was really my point.

Think going forward we should just wait until Peterborough identify the next CF they are going to buy from non-league and guzump them. Their success rate of finding gems in the lower leagues is outstanding, and I have no doubt Danny Ormerod will be another gem.

Some odd positions there! Kyerewaa is not a FW like Marriott and Reid, he’s a winger. Why FW for Marriott and Reid but CF for Brown and Patton? In Richardson’s 4-2-3-1 / 3-4-2-1 Fraser is no more defensive than Wing/Savage/Rinomhota.

Ryan? Is there another one I am unaware of. That leaves only Roberts as an actual left back. If he ever gets fit enough to play again.
