See that the getreading site is ramping up for a month of no Reading news by giving two startling snippets of news.

1. That apparently it’ll be down to AC and his agent whether his deal is extended in January and
2. That Reading are going to trial giving opponent team news before a game - as if it’s nothing they’ve ever done before and obviously no other clubs in the league do it at some point before kick off

Wonder what we’ll be down to by the start of December.

To be fair on (2), it does appear that they are going to change the time at which the opposition team news is read out - so it is actually news. A tiny fragment of unimportant trivia, but never-the-less - brand new information!

I'm unsurprised. Never felt like he really had a passion for the job (whether it's Reading or just generally)

Journalism is clearly a tough gig nowadays but Watts showed if you do it right you can have a fantastic and enjoyable career out of it. Living the dream really isn’t he?

He put the work in behind the scenes for free and is reaping the rewards later in life, what you have to do in local journalism to get ahead. Unfortunately for JLow he just wasn't proactive enough or passionate enough about football to go the extra mile.

Echo the sentiments here really, clearly a nice guy but had big boots to fill after the departure of Charles Watts and never came close to those standards, would have potentially been interesting next season as I believe he's a Portsmouth fan at heart so would have potentially covered Reading vs Pompey next season but that isn't to be now.

Seems like a genuinely decent bloke, but this always felt like a temporary gig that he didn't want, which somehow went on for 10 years. I wish him nothing but the best and hope he's finally at peace away from Reading FC.

How dire has the local media been about this. The "written press" i get, because we dont have one, but considering Dellor and Williams, majority of their work is fuelled by Reading FC, silence is deafening. Most bizarre.
