If Earnshaw acted like Brogue he'd be fired in seconds.
Yes you're right as they have to be more careful to maintain a club relationship but they add absolutely nothing. The Tilehurst End have just done a great piece with the new media guy, why the hell isn't Earnshaw doing things like that?Snowflake Royal wrote:Journalists have to demonstrate some professional standards.

He published an article on the reading chronicle site yesterday saying Ejaria signed for Oviedo. Which I posted in the ex royals thread on the 21st JulyMid Sussex Royal wrote:Yes you're right as they have to be more careful to maintain a club relationship but they add absolutely nothing. To be fair, he only officially signed on Wednesday - he was only on trial since July.Brogue wrote:He published an article on the reading chronicle site yesterday saying Ejaria signed for Oviedo. Which Earnshaw also reported on. At least Brogue is only two days behind Earnshaw on Ejaria permanently signing with Oviedo.Hendo wrote:To be fair, he only officially signed on Wednesday - he was only on trial since July.Brogue wrote:He published an article on the reading chronicle site yesterday saying Ejaria signed for Oviedo. I like how you’ve been following me around the board commenting on all my posts. It gives a warm fuzzy feeling that I’m triggering you,Orion1871 wrote:Which Earnshaw also reported on. isn't that the major issue though - monetising a hobby vs. salaried employees working for a media organisation.Mid Sussex Royal wrote:Yes you're right as they have to be more careful to maintain a club relationship but they add absolutely nothing. Coincidence - or has he been reading HNA and decided to follow up?Brogue wrote:Got a call with Tim Dellor this afternoon about the state of local journalism in the area.
I reckon they all read this, and prob someone from the club does too. This site has a good range of fans with many years of following the team from around the country and there isn't as much of the reactionary stuff as there is on Twitter etc.Sutekh wrote:Coincidence - or has he been reading HNA and decided to follow up?Brogue wrote:Got a call with Tim Dellor this afternoon about the state of local journalism in the area.
Will your “interview” be on his 6pm show tonight?
I pity the bastards if they do.Mid Sussex Royal wrote:I reckon they all read this, and prob someone from the club does too. BBC Berks certainly used to read this site, remember that chap, Ollie wasn’t it? Because of him we had the BBC Berks forum added but sadly he left the BBC shortly after and as you’d expect no-one at Berks took up the mantle to continue with things - at least not overtly anyway.Snowflake Royal wrote:I pity the bastards if they do.Mid Sussex Royal wrote:I reckon they all read this, and prob someone from the club does too. Mine is completely the opposite. I've given up trying to view on my iPhone. In contrast, my virus protection suite on my PC and laptop kills off all pop ups.Linden Jones' Tash wrote:The local media business model has been broken for years & no-one quite knows how to fund it properly...
The lack of scrutiny on elected officials by independent local media is a timebomb waiting to go off also...
The AI isation of the Internet with short AI summaries changing click-through behaviour is going to change, if not break, the model for media (& other businesses)...
Twitter (X) turning into a far right bin fire means HNA is now the only source of gossip (both ITK & not) for me - I'm curious as to whether this has had a positive financial impact on HNA as a platform?....
(As an aside, my mobile experience of HNA is way better than via laptop - where pop up ads slow me down at every click)
Interesting - my phone is a Samsung and I use the Samsung web browser...RoyalBlue wrote:

What browser do you use and do you have any ad blocker plug ins?Linden Jones' Tash wrote:Interesting - my phone is a Samsung and I use the Samsung web browser...RoyalBlue wrote:

On my windows laptop, I get pop ups at every click - I'll check my settings
Cheers
How did it go?Brogue wrote:Got a call with Tim Dellor this afternoon about the state of local journalism in the area.
Tim was really nice. He basically said James earnshaw is going through some really tough personal stuff at the moment and he has taken on the responsibility of protecting him. Saying it’s fine to criticise of course. But maybe not so aggressivelyMid Sussex Royal wrote:How did it go?Brogue wrote:Got a call with Tim Dellor this afternoon about the state of local journalism in the area.
