Really disappointed with last night’s performance. Never started playing until the 2nd half. Howard my man of the match for the Royals. The team go again this Friday away to Burnley KO 7pm. The match is at the Lancashire FA county ground.

I know it is more about performances (both team and individual) at this level but am hoping it is a slow start for the Academy this year due to new players joining, as a long season of losing (which the start at u18/u21 seems to suggest is possible) could have a really negative impact on some player development.

Rather better than the u18s showings though.

Incredibly this signing appears to have got some people over on X a little excited. Apparently a very talented player.

Not according to people he was at Chelsea with. Not great but very quick. Although for L1 that may constitute a Worldy

Any other former Chelsea youth players who haven't been rated there, but have then come to Reading and done well? Can't think of any.

Well we'll see, I know absolutely nothing about him and only heard his name for the first time an hour ago - so he's clearly the next Olise.

I was too, especially the first half.

Thought Jerae Jones looked good going forward; hopefully his injury was nothing serious. Great run and finish for his goal.

A bit disappointed with the new players, although I imagine they need a bit of time to get up to speed with what they’re expected to do.

The goals we conceded were poor, particularly the second: a long throw which was flicked on to their player in worlds of space.

Work to be done I guess.
