Whilst the Mad Stad has been quiet in the past, its a common issue for teams with new all seater grounds without established singing areas etc...I've been to 8 (I think) aways this season and the atmosphere has been flat everywhere, even sides at the top.

I can see other clubs looking at Club 1871 and trying it out themselves - its absolutely transformed the place

Just a bit of a shame that it (c1871) was needed in the first place.

There was no lack of atmosphere back in 2005 to 2009 days (and some of the seasons preceding it)...and once again the latter part of the 2012 either.

The team, its performances and results are directly proportional to the atmosphere....and of course, the occasion.

Agree wholeheartedly that the only reason the atmosphere in the ground suffered in recent seasons was because of the crap football and the mismanagement of the football club. It left us feeling completely detached from the club and ultimately the team.

Y25 and Y26 will recover. It just needs a group of 30+ fans who sing and keep singing and others are drawn in and get involved again. Then we have two sections being vocal which would be fantastic.

Over 800 in the South for the Brentford game. We’re hoping to break that again against West Brom.

Remember, existing season ticket holders can switch their seat to the South on a game by game basis, or even permanently if they wish. General sale can purchase over the phone any time during the week.

Come and give it ago. You might be surprised like most of us have been, and rediscover the missing fun element that a lot of us have missed.

Have not been arsed to use my season ticket much this time around... stuck in the traffic on the M25 last Saturday I remembered another reason (apart from some dire footie) why I had not bothered. However glad I made the effort, the team played well and the support from the south stand was top notch.

It was so obviously just about critical mass of people to make it work and a few decent results to get them.

Great initiative kudos to the organisers and the difference between 50 people trying to chant all game in front of gutless insipid performances and 800 watching a committed winning effort is great to see.

Apologies I bailed for three months rather than stick it out with you. I just couldn't take it anymore.

Over 800 sold so far for WBA. Ticket sales throughout the ground look very good too. A good crowd expected today.

On the day of the Brentford game we sold over 200 tickets, so today we are hopeful of hitting the 1000 mark.

Fantastic atmosphere again today, and it seemed to be non-stop throughout. We could even hear Y25/26 join in which was superb!

Great support today, from all stands. Club1871 led from the start but everyone did their bit.
Poor show from the Baggies, I assumed their season had ended in mid table mediocrity....

Baggies fans were very complimentary about C1871 and many said it was up there with the best home support they heard this season. Brilliant to hear! Also commented that the Dolan were loud at times with their clappers, which we don’t all like I appreciate but they work well in that stand! They did however comment on how quiet Y25/26 were but I’m sure that’ll improve next season. It does need a small group of say 20 fans at the back persistently singing though to get everyone on their feat and singing with them. But credit where credit’s due. A great atmosphere and important point. Now role on the summer so we can relax before what will be an interesting transfer window ahead.

I thought the sound and level of support all around the stadium was great today. The Dolan Stand, led by the drummer, really did their bit too. I don't particularly like clappers but I think they're fine when restricted to what is essentially the kids' stand.

How could it ever hope to compliment the rest of the ground?

The south stand are singing their inoffensive dittys towards the pitch, away from y26 (the only real organic area for noise), flanked by away fans on their right and the most soulless part of the ground on their left.

It hasn't got a hope of working. Knock it on the head, move everyone back to the one place where 20 years of (relative) atmosphere has prospered, and make at least one part of the ground vaguely intimidating again.
