Who would have thought a loss to Bristol City in a friendly could be the final straw.

Shame we won't get to see the Newcastle meltdown season that feels like is on the way, with Howe & Tindall in place.

Matthias Jaissle (nope, me neither) taking over apparently. 38 year old who just managed Al-Ahli to 3rd place in the Saudi League

'the Geordie nation' are going to be in meltdown I would imagine. tops off, punching horses etc

Jaissle is the former Salzburg manager. 60%+ win rate at all his managerial gigs.

They also only drew with Hartlepool
He had a good run but his limitations were exposed last season.

Given the players sold in the last 12 months Howe couldn't have asked for a better time to be sacked.

I guess it is more about their unsuccessful buying of players:-
Wissa
Elanga
Woltemade
None have lived up to their transfer fees.

+1, they have spent a lot of money badly, and every time they try to compete for signings, they lose out!

3 (three) - see list below

Arsenal - Mikel Arteta (Spain)
Aston Villa - Unai Emery (Spain)
Bournemouth - Marco Rose (Germany)
Brentford - Keith Andrews (Ireland)
Brighton - Fabian Hürzeler (Germany)
Chelsea - Xabi Alonso (Spain)
Coventry - Frank Lampard (England)
Crystal Palace - Pierre Sage (France)
Everton - David Moyes (Scotland)
Fulham - Alvaro Arbeloa (Spain)
Hull - Sergej Jakirović (Bosnia)
Ipswich - Gary O’Neil (England)
Leeds - Daniel Farke (Germany)
Liverpool - Andoni Iraola (Spain)
ManC - Enzo Maresca (Italy)
ManU - Michael Carrick (England)
Newcastle - expected to be Matthias Jaissle (Germany)
NottmF - Oliver Glasner (Germany)
Sunderland - Régis Le Bris (France)
Tottenham - Robert de Zerbi (Italy)

Overall….

Germany - 5 (incl. 1 everybody expects to be appointed at Newcastle)
Spain - 5
England - 3
France - 2
Italy - 2
Bosnia -1
Ireland - 1
Scotland - 1

So three quarters of PL managers come from the British Isles, Germany or Spain.

But which of the above list will be gone by Xmas?

the way they have been in the transfer market I think he might be in for a painful time, until they appoint some new young thing from Europe around February (or Eddie Howe!)

Why? Still pretty early doors. What have our competitors done that's so amazing? Anderson to City is good, not sure he's £110m good

And 2 of those with promoted clubs.

Small point as well, Glasner is Austrian not German.
