Elections to STAR Board - nominations close soon

Every year STAR offers the opportunity for members to stand for election to the STAR Board and most years we get two or three new (or returning) board members. We haven't actually had a contested election since 2002 (this isn't unusual in the world of supporters' trusts) so supporters putting themselves forward do get on - though obviously this is not guaranteed as there might be more candidates than positions (8) this year.

In order to put yourself forward you need to meet these conditions:

- be aged 18 or over and a current member of STAR
- have the support of four current STAR members
- check the Eligibility criteria on Section 6 of the Election Policy on the STAR Website
- provide a type-written statement of 400-1000 words indicating your interests, ideas and reasons for standing

The nomination form is downloadable from the STAR website and the closing date for nominations is 31st May 2015.

We're asking for nominations for candidates to stand for election. These need to be in by 31 May. If there are more candidates than vacancies then there may well be an election and candidates will be notified in June.
