Phoenix Club: What would you pay

Increasingly the mood seems to be Dai just isn't selling, so sooner or later we go the way of Bury.

So what would the illustrious members of HNA contribute to the setting up of a Phoenix club, in financial terms?

Need it be a one-off?

Phoenix clubs often struggle to run *after* the thrill and publicity of the takeover has happened - and that's when working capital is most needed. Too many take a short-term view focussed on the buy-out and then fail because they've not taken the long-term finances into account.

A supporter-owned club I'm involved in has members who pay a monthly amount - typically £10, £20 or £30 a month, although some pay more and that's probably easier for donors as they don't have to find a lump sum and also lets the club function after takeover.

I wouldn’t be interested in a phoenix club. Sadly after a lifetime of support I’ve moved on. Setting up a new club would be hard, the politics would be unbearable and personally I can’t get excited about it.

Realistically I'd be too cynical about the notion.

I'd be happier to pay a regular sustainable amount towards costs than to put up a large sum that would be swallowed up by operating costs within a year.

I'd also be happy to contribute a fairly large sum towards a fundraiser that was going to sort a specific thing (like bringing a ground up to safety requirements).

Let's get to hypothetically funding the phoenix club on an ongoing basis once we've done actually setting it up.

I'd like to think ongoing funds wouldn’t be too difficult for a while, if we can't attract major attendances compared to the level we'd be at, no point in trying.
