Looks a good signing if fit.

Makes that new Chronicle guy look completely ridiculous given his Twitter rant last night....he's already lost all creditability like Low did soon after starting.

Yep derby fans are quite complimentary. but they say don’t expect him to cross the half way line. He’s never scored in his career either. Holds the championship record for most number of games without a goal  So this very much looks like a tightening up the back 4 sort of signing rather than expecting any sort of attacking involvements. Which I’m not against to be honest. Where does that leave arbrefa and Ahmed now. Sent out on loans I assume

Always a possibility I suppose that he could play as right sided centre half in a back 3.

Can he block crosses into the box? Or at the very least make a decent attempt at doing so? If yes, then he'll be an improvement.

Supposedly quick; works hard; defensively good. On the face of it, a positive loan for us.

I do think this will allow at least one of Abrefa or Ahmed to go on loan, which will hopefully have a positive impact on their development.

Brogue Nyambe 28 years old derby defender

Primarily a right back but can play centre back and as a left back, so is a younger Andy Yiadom.

Previously played for Blackburn and Wigan.

Namibian international.

Has suffered quadriceps, posterior cruciate and hamstring injuries since joining Derby in 2023.

Holds the current Championship record for most appearances (202) by an outfield player without scoring.

Rather have Ryan Reynolds 8)

I wouldn't be surprised if they both went out on loan. The right back position is up for grabs next season and they could both be in line for it. Yiadom isn't getting any younger. And we've got Rinomhota to provide cover for right back, in case of injuries.

Not a great injury record but I guess that is how we have got him.
Hasn't every player we have signed this season been out with injuries at some time?

Don’t see the point of this. We have Yiadom, Abrefa, Rinomhota and Ahmed. Absolute waste of money in my opinion.

Regularly on the bench for Derby so must be fit but doesn’t seem to come on very often. Not sure he’ll come straight into starting 11 on Saturday?

Yiadom is made of glass, Abrefa obviously isn't Richardson's cup of tea given previous quotes, Rinomhota is out with unknown personal issues and wasn't doing much before that, and Ahmed isn't quite ready.

I kind of agree with you but have never held Abrefa in as high esteem as you have and I presume that Richardson feels the same.
Ahmed is still very young and would definitely benefit from a Div 2 loan or even in the Conference.

Richardson, like a lot of managers, does seem to prefer experienced players and the make-up of our side after this window will probably be very different from what we have been used to, i.e. younger rather than older players.
I guess this squad is now being built at minimal cost either to stay in this division for now or, if we somehow got promoted, to be churned next Summer in readiness for the higher level.

Yiadom has been fine since his return to fitness and sharpe. Abrefa is perfectly good enough. Rinomhota is back from his personal issue. Ahmed is adequate cover. Ritchie is also available.

Bloated squads have never served us well.

There is no point in having 6 players who can play RB. Not even including Rushesha and Osho.

We can't continue paying for a Cat 1 Academy, and go back to recruiting oodles of senior players so the youngsters have no first team pathway and get let go on the cheap. Like Dickie, Hyam, Stacey, Fosu etc did.

What if he's better than Abrefa and Ahmed and we send those two out on loan ?

I’ve complained about us doing that all season tbh. The academy has been a waste of time this year other than Ahmed. Abrefa, Dorsett and Kelvin E came through many years ago

For me Dorsett and Abrefa have been ok. But do think Dorsett future is at CB

In saying that if LR sees this as an issue that needs sorting then that’s his call - just hope the others all get out on loan etc. am concerned we’re not going to see much of Rino which is a shame

This chap's a loan until the end of the season so isn't really blocking the pathway of our Academy products and is likely to be beneficial to them as it means they can go out on loan for 6 months to gain experience. If the do well then there's every chance they could be our RB next season
