Coppell = 5 big name signings

Once again this man has stunned us.

Before last season we were complaining about the lack of big name signings, and he went on to smash all records and create officially the best team to play outside the top flight in the history of English football. Very few of us would have guessed this.

You'd think we'd have learnt from this scepticism but even hardcore Coppell fans like me were admitting we should have made a few big signings to stand any chance of avoiding relegation this season. So far it seems he's proved us wrong again.

I think there's somethign about the way he trains the guys, something about the way he manages them, encourages them, gets the best out of them, fires them up, something about the way he gets them to play which effectively makes just having him as our top man equivalent to having something like 3-5 big signings.

He has the Midas touch.

Like I said from before he even joined, we should never ever ever ever ever get rid him.

his work has turned heads especially with the defense. critics said it would never hold up against top teams. well, it did well against ManUre, for the most part, and other sides. Sonko's been brilliant, and Coppell's made Shorey a possible for the England squad. really great work

I was (and still am) one who felt that we had a good chance of consolidating in the Prem rather than fighting relegation.
Coppell is always looking to strengthen the squad, it's just that a couple of people who he was after joined other teams or stayed where they are.
I trust Coppell 100%, he'll only buy for the good of the team, not for the sake of it and I might even suggest that he's extremely happy with the performances shown by the current starting eleven.

Doesn't mean that he always planned it this way and it doesn't mean that he won't try and improve the starting eleven come January.

No we're not, but you can't say that a side playing with two wingers is likley to do better with a target man than without.

This is in no way a criticism of our short arsed strikers

I heard a Radio interview with K Dillon about a 8v4 defensive drill that they do for 30 minutes during training in a week.
That's 4 defenders against 8 attacking players for 30 minutes.
That would be completely knackering, but would definitely get the defence used to coping with fierce pressure from the opposition.

Definitley helps against teams banging on the door like Man Utd did.
