It's a big deal having him back - as well as kitson - feel sorry for Hunty though, as he must be first on the shelf when Bobby's fully fit...

Convey looked fit, quick and unlucky not to score on about 5 mins when he crashed a shot against the post.

As Stranded said tho, looked knackered with 15/20 to go (understandably).

I would think he will be on the bench on Sunday.

This was exactly what we needed - and its similar to signing a new player. I don't expect Bobby to feature for long (if at all) at Goodison on Sunday but I can see him starting against Sheff Utd a week on Saturday and giving their right back hell.

I think he will be pushing for a start - which is what we want naturally - but I'm not sure that he will be automatically straight into the starting line-up if Hunt has a good game against Everton. Thats not Coppell's style.

Off the pace a bit, and as already stated, he tired a lot in the second half.

He bottled a couple of tackles and struggled to get into the game at times but when he did he looked like getting back to last years form with some very neat touches and good runs.

A bit more confidence and fitness and he'll be pushing Hunt back out of the side.

Was much more effective than Soel on the night.

I think Seol could have learned a lot from Convey last night. Bobby tracked back and made a niusance of himself when Burnley attacked. Unfortunately Seol fell over everytime he went in for a tackle and was well off the pace.

Am I the only one who thought he rarely beat his man in a one-on-one situation? He was good, but you really could see his was a bit rusty and out of practise. Great effort early on, though.

I put it down to lack of confidence and sharpness.

He had a few chances to take his man on but elected to pass instead, in the past he'd rightly have taken them on in those situations.

I guess so. Certainly, down by me, once or twice he took too heavy a touch as he closed in on the player and gave the defender an easy chance to hack clear.

Looked rusty in the first half and improved as the game went on. Give him a couple of weeks and he'll be fully up to speed. Kitson looked very decent indeed considering the time he's been out.

Put it this way, not the same as Shorey and Bobby!! but then again as I think you are suggesting its the partnership between Shorey and Convey that looks and works so well.

Was very unlucky not to score in the first few minutes when he hit a post. Shame it didn't go in as it would have given him a lot of confidence which he looked slightly lacking in the rest of the first half.

Had a good game, but not ready for 90 minutes of Prem action. I think we'll see him on the bench on the weekend.

Convey will need a couple of bench appearances before he displaces Hunt, and they'll need to be good.
I feel a little for Long, He's showing himslf to be an excellent prospect, but you'd really have to take Kitson for the bench over him. Mind you Long has plenty of time on his side to break into the first team proper.

So glad to see Convey back last night. looked fit and raring to go thats for sure (seemed to be everywhere on the pitch). gutted that he didnt score, he had a few chances. Unstandably tired towards the end, but great performance. he probably wont be involved against Everton this weekend, but would love to see him at least be on the bench against Sheff Utd.
