The 2010 UEFA Champions League Final is a football match scheduled to be played on Saturday, 22 May 2010. It will be the 18th final of the UEFA Champions League under the current format and the 55th in total. The game will be played at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, home of Real Madrid.

In November 2007, it was decided that the 2010 final would be the first Champions League final to be played on a Saturday, rather than the traditional Wednesday.

The fixture is scheduled for 22 May 2010, which is the same date as both the 2010 Heineken Cup Final at the Stade de France and, provisionally, the 2010 Football League Championship play-off Final at Wembley Stadium.

I thought the championship final always came after league 1 & 2.

Usually, yes - but FIFA's rules for the release of players so many days before the World Cup means that they've brought that one forward as it's the most likely one to contain players who'll be off to the WC.

Personally (and especially when the 3 Play Off finals are on the same weekend), I'd rather the Championship final was the always first one to be played.
