Yes, different...who knew back then READING of WEMBLEY

28 Mar 2020 22:26Last time a Reading player scored a hat trick away from home until Puscas at Wigan.
There was a textbook infiltration of the home end by a dozen or so miscreants at that game. They got led round the pitch to the away end before kick off leading to a lovely rendition of the, now sadly defunct, chant "You've got Reading in your end"Tony Le Mesmer wrote:Leyton Orient away 1993/94. Thanks Mes. Really enjoying this trips down memory lane. Agree with the sentiments of the 92/93 season. Really thought the club was on the upturn and some great performances that season. For me, the turning point was the performance in a League Cup tie at Watford in the midst of a biblical downpour. We were superb that night.Tony Le Mesmer wrote:Got lots of snippets lined up from the 1992/93 season. An 8th place finish but for me the season that Reading really turned the corner, leading to an upswing that lasted 20 years. Rather painstaking trawling through VHS, but no better time to do this I guess! Watch this space.
I remember quite a few doing it a Burnley one year, only do find the fences had been coated in non-drying paint when they got down.Jerry St Clair wrote:There was a textbook infiltration of the home end by a dozen or so miscreants at that game. Also, climbing on perimeter fences. I guess no-one under 40 has ever done that?

Can't be arsed to read 27 pages, so hopefully an easy question - i have loads of VHS videos that i kept going back god knows how many years. I don't have a VHS player in any shape or form so how do i get it put into a digital format so it can be watched? Anyone that can help, i will share without any problems..............Tony Le Mesmer wrote:Watford Away. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6D0jg3SA0RcArk Royal wrote:Thanks Mes. I've scheduled one snippet a day to take you through the best of the 1992/93 season, so subscribe if you wish. I'll post up the playlist for the season when its complete.
Cheapest way might be to try and buy a video player off somewhere, because the software is fairly cheap and easy to use. The main issue I have with uploading to YouTube is the length of the video. Anything over 20 mins and its not having it or takes a very long time.EverHopeful wrote:Can't be arsed to read 27 pages, so hopefully an easy question - i have loads of VHS videos that i kept going back god knows how many years. Other than that, pay for someone to preserve it in digital format https://www.yell.com/s/video+and+dvd+se ... ading.html
There is a Royals Gems for 84-86 I believe, although sadly the 85-86 winning run is not part of it due to Strike Action.STAR Liaison wrote:Good on yer, all those contributing to this thread. There is an effort underway to try and catalogue and capture all Reading's recorded match footage. The bit STAR is focussing on at the moment is the pre Madstad (1998) era.
But one element this thread could also help with is the list club-produced / commercial videos (i.e. stuff that wasn't taped off-air) and DVDs. Here's the list of what we've got so far but we think there may be gaps. Gentlemen, to your cupboards! There may be ancient video treasure within.

Yes, I remember buying that t-shirt from the club office on Norfolk Road.Zip wrote:I was just going to ask if there was any footage of our 2-2 draw with Wolves in 85/86 which pint an end to our 13 win run but I think that’s now been answered![]()
Does anyone remember the cheap T-shirt’s the club sold at the time showing the League table on the front of the T-shirt with Reading 12 games 36 points and the comment “Reading first the rest nowhere”.
