I keep a fairly close eye on the U23 squad but I have never heard of Tyrell Ashcroft. As he is aged 19 he is no longer eligible for U18s so I assume he is a contracted player. He doesn’t seem to have played much at any level for us. Does anyone know anything about him?

Did a bit of hunting when I saw the match report first. He appears first as an U18 player for us last season. Played in maybe a third of the games as a CB or RB, was on the bench for a number of U23 games, and played in 2 of them. According to Wikipedia he's 18, not 19 btw

That's all there is! Can't find a record of him signing a professional contract, but a lot of the archived news reports from the club seem to have been deleted with the move to the new website

Slightly pre-season related -

Liam Moore is playing in the Gold Cup for Jamaica so will miss the majority of the Reading pre-season. Wonder how this will affect him/us at the start of the season (Will he play in the first game of the season? How will it affect his overall fitness for the season ahead?)

Also, I wonder if there is anyone in the Jamaica team who is available on a free/on the cheap?
