Which is quite an amusing comment.

No boos inside the stadium, I agree. There weren't enough people at the end to be audible even if there had been.

But honestly, the callers on the radio were almost unanimous in their calls for Richardson to get the sack, won't be renewing their season ticket, worst football ever, blah blah blah.

This was my youngest daughter's first Reading game and she seemed quite enthused by it, although was concerned about the number of Cardiff fans without tops on.

My thoughts were somewhat less positive, albeit not as fueled by Haribo...

I thought Lane had his best game for us and it was great to see Marriott back (prior to wiping himself out on the goal post).

I do wonder if there is any future for Dorsett, he seems to have regressed (more about the manager I suspect). Nyambe flatters to decieve, I'd rather have Abrefa's pace.

Rhino was excellent, far better than any of our other midfielders this season in understanding the role and having enough pace to actually get to the ball. Wing is still not a defensive midfielder and should be played in the number 10 role with two mobile midfielders behind him.

None of our central defenders fill me with confidence (at least without Williams and Ward).

Having listened to the "manager" after the game he is clearly deluded.

I wouldn't be sad to see O'Conner, Savage, Fraser, Dorsett, Lane, Elliott, Yiadom, Camara or Rushesha leave.

I have little to no interest in keeping any of our loan players (barring Doyle if he bulks up a bit).

We have clearly been impacted by the huge injury list, however despite signing almost all of our squad in the last year it's still hard to see who fits into which position (although it would require a manager who could pick a formation that offers something).

As annoying as it was to lose today we actually played ok.

Rino was good, better than Fraser, and Marriot almost scored with his first touch,

I'd rather watch us losing whilst playing than recent utter shite we've had. Pass, pass, hoof.

And the ref can fook off, what a tosser, I thought we had 2 good pen shouts and he ends up booking Burn. Twat, but the summary of our season.

Pretty mediocre stuff really, in it until their 2nd. Rino was good, Dorsett mainly OK, good job Kyreewa scored - he did little of note otherwise, Roberts, frankly, had a 'mare.
Unsure about the manager. What was the point of 3 subs in the 86th minute? Next season awaits.

I’ve said before with DK that he gets a pretty easy ride really. He has potential but he makes poor decisions and gives the ball away a lot, yet seems to avoid any criticism and seems to play the full 90 every game which baffles me tbh

He does make mistakes, but he almost always goes forward. he runs at people and takes them on, he also played a sublime pass at one stage.

In a team of timid and negative players he stands out as someone who can provide a bit of excitement. Hence people are more forgiving of him than some others.

BTW, for a team on the edge of play offs, we're in relegation form

We’ve been playing like a relegation side since Leam came in. Just the results defied the performances. Now the luck in winning games from 1 shot on target has run out, the results are now representative of the performance's.

Enjoyed a few pints in town today instead of putting myself through that normal shit.
I might make it a normal thing next season unless things change.

It was an improvement on what we have watched lately but still lots of issues that need to be resolved.

Biggest positive it was another game ticked off. One more at home to go.

Feels like a total waste of a season.

what did we (you) expect at the start of it?

Better entertainment?, yes

Survival?, probably

One or two here would’ve wanted otherwise to just validate their own personal “told ya so’s”

What’s the Queens Head like these days Windermere?

For me, Difficult to be specific really. Games more entertaining certainly, just a bit more excitement.

Been nice to have seen some young players come through, not discarded

Less journeymen coming in with no previous links to the club and who are on the way down

A bit of a better idea for the direction for next year

Credit that we’ve very comfortable mid table after a very poor start though and it’s been a pretty stress free season

It's felt like that since the day when Dai took over. A non-event of a play-off final, followed by year after year of depressing seasons. The only good one had no fans to see it, and even then it involved throwing away a play-off place right at the death.

Armadillo Roadkill wrote: 18 Apr 2026 17:54 if that was a one off, I wouldn't be worried. I thought we were pretty OK. Even Lane was good. Cardiff took their chances, no complaints about them, and good luck to them next season.

Things are moving against Richardson. The clamour is getting louder, and results are not helping him. But some of it is verging on hysterical. Fine margins and all that, But there's no way we can say everything is alright.

I'm certainly not calling for a change of manager - I think that would probably be a mistake - but if the owners are listening to the people calling into BBCRB, you'd think we just got relegated, and they might panic.
Agreed. I thought we did well, especially given Cardiff are going to finish second this season.

Club 1871 have basically decided they want Richardson gone no matter what now and no evidence is going to shift that. A bit like how once they turned on Hunt, he wasn’t going to win them back.

Hopefully Couhig actually sticks to his word this time and backs the manager. Richardson needs the summer to get players in he wants and get them to where he wants them.

We seemed to learn a lot from the summer in the January window.

Based on the performances though, I’ve got to question why Rinomhota hasn’t started before today if he’s been fit enough.

I just hope we don’t follow the same trend. The early Dai era was a massive what could’ve been had he had some competent people advising him and running the club on a day-to-day basis.

Agreed on the deluded manager bit.
It sounded like a barrister making the case for the defence in court when he rattled off all the positive stats.
He didn't seem to grasp the fact that we lost and if you didn't know then you would have thought that we won the game.

As for player retention I agree with you but would go further and say that I wouldn't be disappointed about any player leaving apart from Pereira and Wing.

Just on Danny K I think we all like his enthusiasm (a more forward Mbengue?) but for a winger he is a dreadful crosser of the ball and the coaches should be spending hours with him teaching him how to do it.
He is too erratic to play in the congested area of midfield centrally IMHO.
