The 26/27 build up thread

A place for your thoughts and speculations on the upcoming season

Going to start by saying Newcastle appear to be having a car crash of a summer so far. They finished 12th last season, just 5 points above 16th place. Tonali has left them and Guimaraes says he wants to leave. Manzambi, who has had tons of hype around him, was expected to join them but it now sounds like he has changed his mind very late on and is on his way to Villa instead, and Victor Munoz was also believed to be on his way there until a last minute change of mind took him to Liverpool.

I do wonder if this will be a season too far for Howe.

Spurs look to be trying to become a football club again, signed Tonali, Fernandes, Senesi, Andersen & Robertson (£240m or so) and also have a decent manager in de Zerbi now, rumours also they want Gakpo too. They might be able to give the Arse a game at this rate.

United have been pretty sensible so far which has left a lot of fans underwhelmed

Liverpool and Iraola could be absolutely anything. On paper, a squad that includes VVD, Gravenberch, Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Ekitike, Wirtz, Isak, Ngumoha and a now signed Jeremy Jacquet - has plenty to challenge for the title. Harvey Elliott returns to the squad. Conor Bradley will be fit for the new season. Leoni is back from his ACL inury.

They will miss Ekitike first up, isn't expected back from his achilles problem until October - but Iraola has all the tools he should need.

Santos I don't know much about - but the Tielemans signing (apparently) looks pretty astute.
