Any referee consciously trying to 'even things up' isn't fit to wear the shirt and carry the cards. Same for any listening out for chat about whether they've got a call wrong before the match is over.

Abolutely no doubt in my mind at all they he evened it up, there isn`t a referee in the land that wouldn`t have given at least two of those pens.
And if the authorities had any balls they would investigate, but they won`t .

I just think he was plain incompetent. If you were trying to even up you would book Richards for diving - there’s no way in the world that anyone who has played football could think that Omar committed a foul in that position - just wasn’t credible. And as he didn’t book him then he obviously thought it was a foul rather than simulation.
