Kintbury 0 Romsey 2- home team down to 10 after around 25 mins and sin bin for another at the same time. 2 second half goals won it for Romsey. Pretty poor standard of football but i suppose step 6 i should have expected it.
No stand yet - i was told they have an extension until June now to put it up.
Bottle of Doom Bar went down well as did the S & K pie. Very friendly club.

:? ...hmmm under these supposed 'new' regulations of only 2 clubs per share for 26/27 - I wonder what/where that'll mean for PFC Vics - who are Ashford Town's current lodgers - especially if they get promoted to STEP05 from CCL-1?

Farnborough v Slough Town
Hampton & Richmond Borough v Horsham
Hornchurch v Hemel Hempstead Town
Maidenhead United v Dorking Wanderers – ‘Magpies’ didn’t quite pull-off a great comeback on Tue
– trailed 0-3 to Ebbsfeet at York Rd – got 2 goals back but too late to share the points – their goals times at 91’ & 94’
- 'Wanderers' pulled 8 pts clear with a big win at struggling Enfield Town
- ‘Daggers’ have put Andy Carroll in interim charge - before the visit from Torquay - following the dismissal of Lee Bradbury.

IL1-SC
Binfield v Littlehampton Town – watched ‘Moles’ first ‘home’ game at the Iconic in 2 months but they were floored inside c.30 mins as PO-chasing Portchester raced into a 3 goal lead.
- Two quick goals early 2nd half teased promise of a come-back but they then conceded a 4th through a penalty and rather fizzled out

- both goals poached by current Asst Manager Dave Tarpey
- tie switched to Scours Lane - as North Greenford's Berkeley Fields is unplayable still.
- Another NGU league game was postponed at short-notice the night before.
- I chatted briefly to a BA fan - they haven't seen a proper 'home' fixture since November!
- both sides came into the game with a doz. fixtures still to fulfill
- BAs 'landlords' (NGU) have 10 left: City's lodgers (Woodley) are slightly better off , with just 7
- to note: the lights at Rivermoor are woeful!

Was at Torquay v Chesham last weekend.

Main hilarity was around Torquay's managerial status. Neil Warnock - interim tracksuit wearer - has a previous engagement, so Ronnie Jepson stood in for him. The favourite for the job, cravat-wearer extraordinaire Paul Tisdale, apparently was due to be announced on Friday night, but talks broke down on the Saturday morning.

They could do with keeping Jepson tbf. Torquay were good value for the win, despite going behind inside two minutes. Chesham then time-wasted and basically arsed about for the remainder of the game, at least until they went behind. A late flurry when they suddenly started taking goal-kicks and throw-ins quicker, they looked decent - Torquay's young keeper got MOTM - but frankly were joyless to watch for most of the game so meh.

..... This Fri evening's CCL-PN fixture at SJP (Kingsbury - Hendon FC) between Hilltop & Windsor & Eton has now been postponed at the request of Hilltop.
....is something Eid related.

Camberley 1 Cobham 3

A first for me - I must have been to well over 1500 games, and this was the first where I've seen a game halted because a player had been sick on the pitch, and they had to bring someone on to wash it away.

Camberley battled well against the runaway leaders, but were undone - after leading - by an own goal and a goalline clearance turned in on the rebound on the stroke of half time, and a late third when they were pressing for an equaliser.

Fa sunday cup semi finals today

Tidworth Town (of Wiltshire i believe) are 2-0 down after 9 minutes against perennial semi finalists home bargains of Liverpool

Other semi final is east london ballers (semi final loser last year and smashed last years winners Highgate 4-1 last time) against afc hartlepool supporters (good team, seem to get to the 1/4s mostly and then cant get past)

As i said ages ago I think final will be home bargains vs ELB

After getting off a long haul flight my lad dragged me to Farnborough v Slough
Quite an even game but Farnborough were well worth the win in the end
Stickland playing his normal blood and guts old school centre back roll but looked like a player who was thinking 'christ im back at this level'
Beacroft looked ok

Stand out player though for Boro was Hakeem Sandah and if that's how he's playing week in week out then he'll be off come the summer

Joe Duncan in goal from Brizzle City was getting some grief from the Slough contingent but couldn't work out their issue with him

...interesting but an understandable return there. They still mumble on-line about finding their own site in/around Southall and besides the Skyex (H&Y) evidently has issues with the 3/4 G surface.

It might also give PFC an option for 25/26 as they'll have to move out of Ashford T. to make way for Kingstonian..... tho British Airways might be a more prudent candidate for lodging there - as they really do need to get off of North Greenford's pitch.

Though it looked surprisingly decent last night, for the visit of Wallingford (in spite of the late downpour)? :?

Pondering Kiddy v W&E in the CCL-PN tonight (Wed)

...pertinent to things 'groundsharey' - I was hearing some mildly disconcerting noises/rumours (from a 'Wally' supporter last night @ NGU) about the potentially bleak future for their current 'nomadic' lodgers - Milton Utd.

From what they had heard, it seems even less likely, they'll be returning to the 'Heights' and I seriously doubt they'll have the sort of fan-base & club governance, to be able to survive an Aylesbury United - type existence in semi-permanent exile.

Shame - I always like trekking up there but sadly they don't have the club foundations real or otherwise to be able to survive - especially if the local authorities don't want them.
Allegedly they'd fallen out with their neighbours (Bowling Club) too ....never a wise move! :?
