What next, players being forced to where boots to match their kit? Just get rid of all the technology and go back to the human beings.Winston Biscuit wrote:Semi automated VAR in Spain disallowed Lewandowski's goal yesterday as it recognised the end of his boot was beyond the defender, but after the game it was shown that it mixed up the boots somehow as it was the defenders boot furthest back

So therefore the game should be awarded to Zwolle or the injury time replayed again.Winston Biscuit wrote:In the Eredivisie, Zwolle scored an injury time winner but it was ruled out by VAR for offside. The offside call is from the first touch of a short corner, which you can't be offside from. Dutch football authorities confirm afterwards it was an error and they apologise to Zwolle
That's less of a VAR issue and more of an officiating issue - they should know you can't be offside from a corner.Winston Biscuit wrote:In the Eredivisie, Zwolle scored an injury time winner but it was ruled out by VAR for offside. Not sure what the protocol is around ref Vs var disagreeing, but the video shows VAR spoke in his ear and told him to disallowed itClyde1998 wrote:That's less of a VAR issue and more of an officiating issue - they should know you can't be offside from a corner.Winston Biscuit wrote:In the Eredivisie, Zwolle scored an injury time winner but it was ruled out by VAR for offside. It was pure poetry that within half an hour of Pedro escaping a red, it was confirmed that Duran's red for slipping over would not be overturned.Sutekh wrote:So just how does VAR reach the conclusion that Pedro’s blatant attempted elbow assault v Brentford is not violent contact? By the way like the subtle way Pedro checked where the Brentford player was first before flinging his elbow out, yet still missed.
Well that added absolutely nothing to the game. Patently obvious VAR were checking for offside in Solanke's goal, even for those in the ground. Not a word about who might have been playing him on or other details, just confirmation it was no goal, which was self-explanatory since Allison was taking a freekick.Winston Biscuit wrote:Carabao cup semi finals to act as test events for the ref to announce to the stadium the Var decision, if he has needed to go over to the screen to view some replays
I disagree. Of course it was obvious the check was for offside. But I liked that the announcement was succinct, identified the player and named the offence. Would have been good to see it play out for a penalty or a red card, but I thought it a good addition to VAR.Whore Jackie wrote:Well that added absolutely nothing to the game.
