That usually means clearing some out to. Make room for new players though. A new manager is probably more likely to move fringe players on....

Mutch is a very good player, but I don't really see a space for him in our squad even if Quinn is ruled out and Williams leaves. Joey, Evans, Kelly and Swift is a very good set and I wouldn't want to waste wages on someone who is only going to be a fairly marginal improvement.

To my mind Mutch is certainly an improvement on Berg and obviously is more experienced than both Evans and Kelly. Therefore he improves the overall squad so is a no brainer if he is available on the right terms.

Bear in mind that we seem to be going for promotion rather than sat mid table with half a hope of getting into the play offs. Therefore, esp. if we suddenly have new owners with some actual money, it is possible that the club will try to go for it and reinforce the squad with experienced and technically better players rather than a few hopefuls that'll might come good in 18 months time as generally seems to be our standard approach.

Whatever way it goes it's all about getting the right players and characters in so JS and BT are therefore going to have to sit down with whoever owns the club make some big decisions in January.
