If true, then good luck to them. If Abbey plays at Olympiacos, that's a good step up for him.Royals and Racers wrote:C Scott on X has claimed today that Abbey is off to Notts Forest and then loaned to Olympiakos and Holmes off to Luton but loaned back to the end of the season.
Abbey to Forest/Olympiacos would make sense. It was the one point Ruben was cagey on yesterday - describing Nelson as having international interest but in a mysterious way.Webster750 wrote:Have posted the same in the rumours thread but also heard Abbey > Forest and Holmes > Luton. Holmes should be confirmed over the next few days, Abbey likely later.
Hadn’t heard about the Olympiacos loan but suppose that doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things, can’t see him returning here.
Yeh agreed. Abbey's pace has saved us on numerous occasions. Think I'd rather see Dorsett shift to CB now, and give one of the specialist LBs another chance at LB.Clyde1998 wrote:If true, then good luck to them. I'd much rather keep Abbey than Holmes until the end of the season, simply because his attributes are different to all our other CBs (especially when it comes to his pace). Bindon would've been able to cover for Holmes without issue; Dean and Mbengue would cover at RCB. At least we've got plenty of CBs - McIntyre, Mola and Dorsett can play LCB.
Agree - fix that thread title!!!!jd82 wrote:Neither confirmed nor confrimed
Yeah.Hound wrote:Would prob look at TMc/Mbengue
Similar partnership to Holmes/Abbey. Left/right footed, one pacey etc
It’s shite news though
They'll just get Olympiakos to sign him and transfer him to Forest later.Pepe the Horseman wrote:Forest expecting to be informed on Monday that they’ve been found in breach of PL profitability & sustainability rules for 3yr cycle to June 2023.
Will this mean they can't sign Abbey?
Haha yes don’t think so sadlySnowflake Royal wrote:Yeah.Hound wrote:Would prob look at TMc/Mbengue

We won't be seeing any money from it. But at least with Holmes and Abbey it doesn't hurt us too much, compared to say Smith or Knibbs or Azeez.
An insanely positive outlook would be that Dai's selling them to make up the difference between what he wants and the offer from Genevra or whoever and the deal will start progressing now.
Yeh that was my first thought.Orion1871 wrote:They'll just get Olympiakos to sign him and transfer him to Forest later.Pepe the Horseman wrote:Forest expecting to be informed on Monday that they’ve been found in breach of PL profitability & sustainability rules for 3yr cycle to June 2023.

So both back in the championship next season and holmes is barely up to that standard.Royals and Racers wrote:C Scott on X has claimed today that Abbey is off to Notts Forest and then loaned to Olympiakos and Holmes off to Luton but loaned back to the end of the season.
We can. I mean, we won't, but we can.Delboy wrote:Can we sign any replacements already lost Ballard and Ejaria ?
I can see Wing going - which will be a disaster for the season IMHO - the other 3, I think may well stay. Smith loves the club and may well see this as a chance to cement legend status, Knibbs probably having his best personal season and Azeez will be a free agent in a few months and will likely have a pick of offers rather than the couple of clubs throwing 100k our way.YorkshireRoyal99 wrote:The next problem is who comes in to replace these players? I doubt they will be the only two to go and, somewhat fortunately, we are decently stocked up at CB. Even without them both, we've still got Bindon, Mbengue, TMcac and Dean in our squad.
I certainly wouldn't be surprised if all of Wing, Smith, Azeez and Knibbs go as well alongside others who are continuously linked with a move away like Savage. What a disaster this is turning out to be after a pretty impressive run of recent results.
