Couldn't agree more but there are clearly some in senior positions whose only view seems to be, how can we get money into the club now that will keep the club going until any sale completes. They (Hi Pang) may decide that 250k up front, as well as saving Azeez's wage for 3 months is worth more to the club that any goals he may score/assist.

Only so many defenders we can ship out

Let's stop speculating on what we're selling Azeez for; there are no rumours of substance that he's going anywhere.

I'd say our outgoings in the circumstance are very sensible. Ejaria and NGW are wage savings for players not contributing and we got the loan back for Holmes. Abbey stings the most, but he's not critical to this team like Smith, Wing, Knibbs and Azeez. If they have helped the club survive up to the point of a sale, so be it. Whereas if we sell any of the 4 mentioned, it's a massive blow. Thankfully, no substantial rumours on any of them yet aside from passing mentions of interest without follow up.

The frustrating thing is, had Dai sold before January as we all hoped, Holmes and Abbey could have been a CB pairing to build a promotion winning side upon. We'll need to think about that again under a new owner. But if we can stay in L1 this season and get a new owner, there is still plenty left to build upon. But that depends upon keeping our key players for the next week.

There's no knowing Abbey's ceiling based upon 6 months; he could be another Tshibola. But under new ownership, there could have been a scenario where he helped us win promotion, performed well in the Championship and gone for very decent money. So it's definitely disappointing, but in our circumstances needs must and there are other players who are more important in the immediate future.

He'll have gone for roughly whatever Luton orginally bid for him. Once that deal was accepted by Pang, then there was always going to be very little wiggle room on price.

Always a shame when a younger player, and fan, moves on but he's gone and thats that. Need to focus on the players here and of course whichever players happen to be here on the 1st Feb.

Only one game but arguably the defence looked the firmest it has looked all season on Tuesday night, it may randomly see us fall across the best CB partnership. Time will tell.

I think his pace and strength has conned a few of us as to how good he is. He's been great for us and his strength and pace have been a huge help. But he's not actually that good an actual defender just yet.

All the attributes to get there, but also enough pace that he's able to mostly get away with his weaknesses and errors so may not be forced to really improve as much as he should.
