I was wondering the other day about whether they could introduce a rule where goalkeepers could handle the ball in both boxes, not just their own. oppo keeper obv couldn't throw it directly into the goal though. Corner would come in and you'd have both keeper in there trying to catch it.

Visions of keepers catching and then stuffing the ball under their shirts before throwing themselves into the net! Guess the intention is for such a keeper to “handle” the ball into a knock down for a teammate to score? Personally I’d prefer to leave things as they are unless these last two suggested rule amendments are combined into something along the lines of, “only goalkeepers are allowed in the 6 yard box at a corner kick until the ball has been touched by another player after the kick is taken” then you might have a little more scope to use hands to your team’s advantage - particularly if the corner taker has superb set piece delivery accuracy.

I've seen this show before. City for the league and Arsenal lose their whole season in about 4 weeks.

I`ve never seen so much hate for one single side ever before, they`re 9 points clear as it stands, they`ve finished 2nd for the last 3 years so must be a decent team.
People prefer a club facing 115 charges and still have to be proven innocent, but most people want them to win it just because they`re up against the gunners.
It`s weird.

I was for Arsenal until they played Utd, utter dogshit football from Arsenal.

We can't have someone winning the league playing such turgid football.

2 seasons ago they won 16 of their last 18 games by an aggregate of 54-9 and lost the league in the last week of the season, everyone jumped on them and called them bottlers for playing entertaining football.
This season they`re grinding out results and the same people are on their backs.
So what is it, really?

I'm not particularly interested in watching a team put everyone in the box and then spam corners and long throws hoping for a scrappy goal

United have done well from corners, but we don't crowd the box like Arsenal, and we binned long throws when Carrick took over.

The first match of the season against Arsenal was actually a decent game of football. We were a little unlucky to concede from a corner; it was, however, competitive. The other game was absolutely dire from Arsenal, real Stokey.

I understand that they may feel they have to play this way to get it over the line, but it's not a great watch

All England should be hoping Arsenal implode and win nothing so that Arteta leaves.

Because it will only take a season for him to ruin “generational talent” Max Dowman.

When Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly burst on the scene they always looked to drive forward beating men for fun, creating opportunities, but within a year Arteta had removed all that from their game, replacing their explosive sparks with sideways and backwards passing, and he’ll do the same with Dowman.

I hate how much the media, and former players-turned-pundit in particular, are obsessed with talking up Dowman, trying to create as much hype/attention/pressure as possible on him. He is literally a schoolkid, yet the obsession with out hyping each other has reached a point where the other day it was even asked whether he should be going to the world cup or not

Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly both needed to have gone out on loan this season. They're at a stage of their careers where they needed game time and they weren't going to get that at Arsenal.
Dowman does look to be a better prospect than either of them so hopefully he keeps progressing. But there's a lot he needs to work on. His tracking back was poor against Southampton. You could argue he was as much at fault of Southampton's first goal as anyone cos he didn't bother running back which left the overload on the right side of Arsenal's defence. Not that the pundits would dare pull him up on it.
