17 Jun 2011 10:19But on the other side of the coin the manager knows damn well that as soon as results start going badly they'll be the ones getting the blame and then the sack.Mr Angry wrote:I'm not and never have been a fan of a manager walking out on a club to join another; players can't do it, so why should managers be able to?
I'm surprised that there aren't more cases of Clubs suing each other over this sort of thing; someone like Mackay or McDermott are worth far more to their clubs than the value of their contracts; add to that the disruption caused by the departure and in trying to find - and paying compensation for - a replacement, and the club losing their manager gets the brown end of the stick.

19 Jun 2011 19:35Just about to say that! I think Ian was trying to get the point across that Watford are probably the epitome of a Championship club. In the past spent over their means, they're skint, high turnover of first team manager's, reliant on youth academy and so forth...Ian Royal wrote:Watford are a weird club, they could really struggle this season and go down, or challenge towards the play offs again.

Would be pleased with that - as he's worked for us before.
